The motel is very comfortable and a good find. Our room was very spacious and the kitchenette was very well equipped. We really appreciated that there were laundry facilities available to us as well. I didn't see any shampoo but I think I just needed to have asked the hosts as I am sure they would have supplied what was needed. It was a very quiet and comfortable stay.
Check in was easy and the hosts very friendly and helpful.
There are some lovely walking paths close by and we enjoyed an evening walk. Grocery stores were close by and just across the road from the motel were a couple of food trucks - coffee, pizza and fish and chips. It is an easy drive to go to Mount Cook for hiking there. We also were able to do an evening drive to Lake Tekapo from our stay in Twizel. Making this a great location to stay.

This is the third or fourth time staying at the Lakes Motel and it never disappoints. Location is excellent for local shops and restaurants. Warren and Fiona are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended

The two bedroom apartments were spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable with extra pillows provided. Warren was welcoming and very helpful with our flat battery. We would highly recommend as THE motel to stay at in Twizel and will definitely return in the future. Thank you.

Well managed comfortable motel which gives a sense of privacy even when full. It’s located near to the “cycle journeys” head office from which the “Alps to Ocean” can be organised. This is the longest and most beautiful cycle trail in New Zealand.
Room tip: There is a community library at the nearby school. It’s closed on mondays and tuesdays and has all the local papers

Clean and simple. Comfortable and nice kitchen area. 40 minutes to Mt Cook National Park. Place has cramped parking most of which are close (1 meter) from your front door. Did stub my toe on a floor mounted doorstop in front of the bath tub so watch your step here.

The room was left open for us as were had advised we were arriving late. Spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Out again the next morning so not much time to enjoy! We would definitely stay there again, good value for money compared with other motels.
