Great food, great drinks, adults only section and fantastic staff. There is lots of activities to do including snorkelling, kayaking, golf and putt putt. The staff are all very welcoming, helpful and attentive. The buffet breakfast is amazing and there are multiple great restaurants to choose from.

Overall we had a good stay. Rooms were clean and nice. Buffet breakfast was good. We have coeliac disease so the gluten free section was good (cakes), gluten free pancakes were yummy, bread was terrible (Not editable, hard as a rock). We brought gluten free bread with us and stored it in the freezer in the kitchen as we had experienced this before in Fiji. Fruit was delicious.
Snorkeling was fun. My twins liked the inflatable obstacle course and canoes.
It was a shame that the pool was freezing as everyone was only lasting 10 mins before having to get out and warm up, my twins were blue lipped and shaking after 5 mins.

The location is an island oasis indeed but the complex is getting very dated and whilst the staff work incredibly hard it was hit and miss as to how "friendly" and helpful they were. I have seen with my own eyes how rude and disrepectful some guests can be towards staff but when you are friendly to them you expect it in return. The rooms are noisey, not a peaceful nights sleep with guests arriving and leaving at all hours and I suspect there are more "family friendly" resorts on the Coral Coast. Your in room arrival "gifts" are random, one got wine and cookies, one got cookies, one got nothing at all - it would be good to have been asked our preferences or have some consistency. A few tips if you are staying: have breakfast at the smaller Takali restaurant, the staff are friendlier and it tends to be quieter. The 1 hr snorkelling tour was AMAZING and well worth the money.
Some may love this place but it was not for me.

First trip to Fiji with my daughter and two granddaughters for five nights. Our stay at Shangri-La resort turned out to be our best resort stay ever. Our lovely rooms faced the ocean, and the view was amazing. Comfortable beds and plenty of space. The meals were great, service was always friendly. My granddaughters (five and eight) felt welcomed, and they loved the pool and the kids club. We all slept very well and left feeling incredibly relaxed. What more can you ask for? We will return.

Bula! We are thrilled with the experience we had with the Shangri-La Yanuca Island coordinating and running our wedding in July 2024. We opted for the Tagimoucia Deluxe Package which included ceremony in the chapel and reception on the chapel lawn. We also booked the Reef Bure for our stay.
Special thanks to Melina Nawa who was quick to respond to all my many emails and questions in the lead up to the wedding (and Lavenia and Alumita in the initial booking processes). When we met with Melina on site in the days prior to the wedding, she made the process seamless and easy for us - greeting us at reception and organising our transfer to the Sigatoka Council where we collected our Special Marriage License. We also had a sit down run through with her the day before the wedding to confirm the pre-organised wedding details, such as wedding arbor, flowers, celebrant information, drinks inclusions. Melina checked in with me daily to follow up any details and collected our marriage certificate for us, which she brought to our room on the final day of our stay.
We had a Welcome Drinks the afternoon prior to the wedding at Bilo Bar. Guests were provided with wrist bands for a bar tab. Guests not staying at the Shangri La were allowed entry for this and the wedding, with their names on a list when going through security at the front gate. Melina and the bar staff made this process seamless.
The set up on the day of the wedding was fantastic. We were lucky enough to have great weather and so reception was held outdoors to the side of the chapel. Although it was slightly windy, the trees around the chapel area provide plenty of shelter, which also makes the area feel secluded. Fairy lights were set up over the tables and a bar to the side. All staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly. We had the Fijian choir welcoming guests as they arrived at the chapel and a trio of serenaders during the canapés hour.
The wedding package also included a private romantic dinner and a night staying at the Chi Spa with multiple treatments, both of which were an amazing way to finish our week at the Shangri La.
All in all, we couldn’t be happier with our experience with the team at the Shangri La and our wedding. It was a perfect day and overall week and I would definitely recommend other brides to select the Shangri La when booking your Fiji wedding!
