This was our third time staying at the Shangri-La and once again we were not disappointed.
We had read reviews about some rooms being mouldy etc. but this was definitely not the case with our room which was very clean and well looked after. The staff are really friendly and always go out of their way to say Bula and help you out if needed. Our check in was smooth and our room was ready on arrival.
As for the resort itself, the beach is paradise and all the pools are great! There are loads of fun activities organised for the kids and our kids (5 and 7) didn’t go to kids club as there was too much other stuff to entertain them. Our kids loved the inflatables at the beach in particular but also loved riding bikes, playing mini golf, playing soccer, softball and touch footy, pool games, snorkeling and parasailing. There is also plenty to do for adults including walking, gym, tennis, massage, jet skiing and golf. We stayed here 6 nights and put simply we never were looking for things to do!
The restaurants are all good except they are all very expensive (more expensive than restaurants in Australia) and many times we ate outside of the resort to reduce costs. A big inconvenience was the lack of laundry facilities which made washing clothes very difficult. The resort charge $35FJ for 20 items which is ridiculously expensive so we took our laundry outside the resort to get washed for much cheaper but obviously this was inconvenient. Surely some washers and dryers could be put in a room somewhere for guests to use.
After staying here we stayed at Port Denerau and can honestly say staying on the Coral Coast is far better and a more Fijian experience.
Overall we loved our stay here and look forward to visiting again soon!
