Poor - golf club really bad and don’t get sucked into incisive package

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks agovia mobile
I bought the inclusive package only to arrive and find out it had a number of complex conditions. Only applies to specific restaurants at specific times and with a subset of drinks available.

Golf club was a nightmare (this was a golf trip). Across 4 days of bookings not once was the reception smooth and friendly. Every time I had to prove my booking by showing emails.

Put last booking was cancelled entirely due to the course not having enough carts to host a tournament planned 6 months in advance. The late start meant we were just deleted off the course booking. No one had the courtesy to inform us at 10 am when this was known instead letting us arrive at 2pm to find this out. The staff were arrogant and unhelpful all week. I cannot at all recommend the Sheraton Denarau golf course. Carts had no brakes, suspension was gone, only saving grace are the staff on the course who are great.

I won’t add the painful reservations experience.

At $1000 nzd a night - steer clear

Loved this resort. Fantastic views. Very clean everywhere. Buffet is amazing with great selections. Staff are very, very friendly. Nightly fire dancers are a highlight. Other restaurants were also very good with lovely food and great service. Would love to go back again.

This hotel is part of the Marriott Group. We moved here after an awful experience at the Marriott Momi Bay. Interestingly (if you look at my review of the Marriott Momi Bay hotel you’ll see that the management have compounded their failures by claiming to have offered us a room move - which they most certainly did not. Their dishonestly is even more disappointing than their poor management skills.

    To the Sheraton….

It was the complete opposite of the Marriott. A professional greeting and explanation of the resort on arrival and an upgrade to a sea view room. The room was a little dated yes but it was comfortable.

    The resort shives wonderful views.

    The food was excellent

    The pool was good.

We wish we had booked here originally and we would come back but the Marriott Momi Bay has soured my view of the chain so I’ll have to think about it.

Room tip: Avoid the Marriott Momi Bay!!

We just went here for breakfast each morning and it was so good we wanted to write a review. Staff were absolutely fantastic. Went above and beyond. A great variety of food and drinks and stunning balcony views. Although we were staying at another resort we were treated very well and this was one of the highlights of our holiday.

Travelling back to back over the last four weeks where we stayed at Sheraton hotels throughout with exceptional service, Denarau location was nothing but disappointing. As Elite guest checking in the front desk didn’t know how to manage our reservations and request. Having two rooms with two different check out dates were mixed up. We approached the front desk 3 times to get it corrected but didn’t happen. Spoke with Sharrol manager on duty who assured us it was corrected and day of checkout both room keys didn’t work. Again went to the front desk who informed us it was never corrected. Felt like we were doing numerous follow up to get things corrected.
Housekeeping, where do I start… day 1 everything was great, the next 4 days we found ourselves running after housekeeping to get towels. With rooms with 4 guest each they would only place two towels, no hand towels or mats. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash nothing replenished. It was a nightmare especially with children and coming back from swimming having to track housekeeping down. We did have the head of housekeeping come and apologize but this was the day before we were leaving.
Pool services sucked. Zero service by the pool. You would have to wave staff down and they would look at you but finish their conversation and then come to you. Service was painfully slow!
Our 5 day stay here was frustrating and exhausting. Majority of the time we found ourselves using facilities outside the hotel and eating out.
I would give this place a 2 star rating it giving it a 3 due to the chefs who went out of their way to cater for a celebration dinner that had dietary requirements.
There are a lot of operational gaps at this resort. Training and coaching is a concern but the management needs to step it up. There are SO many managers at each level that to get anything done you have to go through multiple people, which causes delays and frustration. Seems like their process is extremely micro managed. They need to empower employees to make decision to avoid customer service issues. I hope this location steps up their game and provide the same level of service that other Sheraton/Marriott properties do.

Absolutely lovely resort, beautiful pools and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive.

I would reccomend including breakfast in your package as the selection is great and it fills you up for the whole day. I was impressed breakfast was available from 7am to 11am, so there is a time to suit everyone.

The rooms are a good size, and have excellent aircon and ceiling fans. We were a bit disappointed that we'd booked a king room and ended up in one with 2 doubles and I was pleased I booked a garden view room as the sea view rooms vary greatly from total sea facing to ones with a glimpse of the sea.

In summary, it is a lovely place to stay if you want to relax and lay by the pool.

Room tip: Bring a multi plug, not many power points in the room.
