Good not incredible

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Aug 2024
We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton. We are a family of four with a 1 year old and 3 year old. We had a ground level room which was amazing as the kids could run around on the grass and in the palm trees (would highly recommend booking a ground level ocean view if you have kids). The rooms were wonderful and the grounds were beautiful. Some rooms had 2x chairs outside while others had a wonderful day bed. It would be great if all the rooms had a day bed!

Our only niggles were the pools were not heated so they were COLD. Last year we stayed at the Intercontinental (absolutely love this resort) and our son spent all day playing in the pool as they were mildly heated. It was too cold for our children to spend a decent amount of time in the pool this time which was disappointing as that was the plan of the holiday!

The other thing we found frustrating was that the dining options/times were tricky for us. The buffet and Wet Edge didn’t open until 6pm and our kids go to bed at 6:30. It would have been great if Wet Edge opened at 5 instead so those with young children could feed the kids early! I think Tatavu opened earlier but was a higher end option when we just wanted some tacos or a burger.

Hope this info helps any other young families looking to book!

We have just returned from a nine night stay and cannot wait to return.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious and have recently been refurbished.

The team members in the breakfast and dinner buffet restaurant are great and it gives a feel of dining with your Aunties and cousins.

The staff in Tatavu bar and grill / pool
Bar are amazing and I would like to make a special mention of Sikeli who is the face and personality of this venue and always looked after us so well. All of the guys behind the bar are great and the ladies on the floor are so friendly. Would also like to make mention of Mary & Vanessa and the singers in the venue.

We would also like to mention Inia who is security / guest relations around the pool. He was doing a great job and also did a great job during the 2 night visit of the President of India to the resort during our stay.

We have been fortunate enough to visit many parts of the world and we found the people of Fiji to be some of the most warm, friendly, welcoming and genuine we have experienced.

We cannot wait to return to Fiji and Sheraton.

Bula Vinaka and a big Vinaka.

Warm regards, Scott & Alyson - Melbourne. Australia.

Room tip: The staff are great with kids and have a great kids club.

We have one more day at the Sheraton Fiji and we have loved everything in the hotel, the lovely staff, the super comfy beds and everything is so clean. Recommend the bula bus to get around but the only negative we had was the BWS shop just outside the Sheraton, no prices on a lot of things and a out and out rip-off and we weren't the only ones! That aside everything else is brilliant!

Room tip: We booked through MYFIJI seamless so far!

My family and I had an afternoon enjoying the pool and bar at the Tatavu bar and grill. We were blown away by the incredible hospitality of Sikeli, Moses and Jone who took great care of us. Although we weren't staying at the hotel we were made to feel very welcome and will go back to stay next time. Vinaka!

Sheraton is a pretty good hotel. The staff are absolutely beautiful and the ladies and gentlemen working in the breakfast buffet are the kindest souls.

Breakfast buffet was okay. I like how they’ve set up a dedicated juice station, but the pre-juiced juices, in particular the pineapple juice favoured by my partner, tasted a bit ‘watered down’. I didn’t actually manage to try the results of the juice station, because it all looked a bit far out for me (like with the whole beets and sugarcane), but I liked the idea.

I think the feedback I’d give on the breakfast buffet is that there should be more labels of what the food is. It is mostly labelled, but there are still a lot of labels missing. I’d also like to see cream out near the pancakes and had to ask for it every morning, only to wait for ages and make several reminders before someone would bring it. On the last morning, the very kind manager told me that the cream was usually kept in the little fridge with the yoghurts, and that she’d make sure the staff labelled it. She was very attentive and kind.

Staff were always very gracious and receptive to feedback. The toilets near the breakfast buffet don’t have a disabled toilet- only accessible stalls (which is still admirably inclusive). And so my blind partner had to walk double the distance for the same amenities as everyone else, and I found it a bit distressing and deeply unfair, even if he was a bit “whatever” about it. So I went up to the “Karen-desk” and shared my feedback, and the beautiful duty manager, who gave me the warm fuzzies and was like everyone’s favourite older aunt, listened and was responsive to my feedback about accessibility.

The boys at the front are to be congratulated for their tireless work in making everyone feel welcome and like “they’ve come home”.

Beds super comfy and room amenities all very nice.

Pools beautiful but it would be so nice if they were heated. Also, a spa/hot tub in the adults only section would be super lovely!! People were trying to sneak their children into the adults only section which wasn’t cool! We came to Fiji to escape our own snot-nosed little brats, not listen to yours!

We loved the steakhouse/grill onsite, but I’ll write a separate review about that one.

Our last night here at the Sheraton and we are sad to be leaving. My husband and I came to celebrate my 60th birthday as family was overseas.
Nothing is perfect but for us the Sheraton staff made it pretty close. Acknowledged my birthday on a number of occasions by firstly giving us an upgrade then placing balloons at my seat while dining to singing Happy Birthday to me and lastly placing flowers and decorating our bed and a birthday cake on the day of my actual birthday ,I felt very special .
That side the Sheraton is a beautiful resort it’s massive and has a wow factor and even though it was big at no time did we feel that there were crowds of people. Plenty of chairs around the large pools. Breakfast had plenty of options and the omelette stations were a big hit by all. The property has also a few other restaurants as well.
The rooms are big and spacious and so is the bathroom. Bed is very comfortable , pillows are a bit soft and floppy but then again it’s hard to find a good pillow.
What makes this resort is the staff. Wonderful individuals every single one of them greet you and nothing is too difficult for them they are here to please. I must mention Litiana who helped us with our dinner reservations and who knew us by name after meeting us once, a very lovely lady and of course Alena from housekeeping who did a wonderful job everyday. So all in all forgetting the fact it was my birthday the Sheraton was a wonderful stay hopefully we will be back soon.
