“Awesome cabin & hosts, lots of solitude”

Steve and Marty were wonderful hosts and communicators. The cabin was well maintained, fully furnished, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated for the season. It's very isolated and the stars at night are spectacular. I wish we had booked longer so we could have spent more time enjoying the cabin. It's about an hour drive to the Yosemite N.P. valley attractions. There is no TV service and few businesses close at hand. The internet connection is pretty slow so don't expect to steam Netflix. There is a DVD player if you want to bring some videos. Guests should be aware that the second bedroom is a non-heated bunkhouse. It does have good electric blankets which kept us warm & toasty thru the night.

Lovely cabin with 1 bedroom and a further cabin a few feet away with 2 beds and an outdoor shower. Very comfortable and the hosts were charming. Definitely recommend.

“Wonderful base for Yosemite trips with fantastic hosts”
Reviewed 1 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We spent the good part of a week in Steve and Marty's cabin near Yosemite (we are a family of four - 2 girls, 10 and 7, visiting from the UK) and can recommend it as a base. The cabin is good-sized, modern and clean with the essential modern conveniences - A/C and WiFi. There is also a small bunk cabin, which two people (suitable for older kids) could sleep in.

It took us about 45 minutes to get to the entrance of Yosemite from the cabin, which was fine. The area around the cabin is very peaceful and scenic - we saw some deer regularly. There is also a country store not too far away, which sells most of what you might need.

The hosts Steve and Marty were wonderful. They were warm, welcoming and always wanted to make sure we were comfortable. They also have a gentle old labrador, which our girls absolutely adored. We can definitely recommend staying here.

“A very special place”
Reviewed 15 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We will look back with extreme fondness at our brief time at Quail Crossing in the years to come. Marty and Steve could not have made us feel more welcome and the homemade cookies and bottle of wine were greatly appreciated by kids and adults.

We decided to take a four night break here in the middle of our road trip around the West coast of America covering Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, San Francisco, Monterey and Los Angeles. This was a wonderful place to relax in the evenings following daytime exploration of Yosemite National Park. The property is situated about 23 miles from the main entrance of Yosemite and in all takes about an hour to drive from Quail Crossing to get to the valley floor in Yosemite but even after 4 days this wasn't a chore given the beautiful scenery.

The rental consists of the main cabin which comprises a bedroom, bathroom and spacious open plane kitchen/dining room/living area. The living area includes a sofa bed which can accommodate 2 at night and the bedroom has a double bed. In addition to the cabin is the bunkhouse which has a room with two single beds, a toilet and an outdoor shower which is wonderful. We are a family of 5 with an 11 year old daughter and two teenage sons and the sleeping configuration was ideal with my wife and I in the bedroom, our daughter in the sofa bed and the two boys in the bunkhouse. After sharing a hotel room in most other locations this gave everyone a bit of space to themselves.

The kitchen was very well supplied with the basics covered such as salt. pepper, coffee, salad dressings etc The local supermarket is 5 mins drive away and the staff there were very friendly. We mostly barbequed in the evening dining outside enjoying the fresh mountain air, the humming birds flying by and on one occasion a deer wondering into the back yard. Whilst there were games to play and the option of borrowing DVDs from Marty and Steve, we spent evenings on the porch star gazing and counting our blessings having found such a wonderful place.

Should we ever go back to Yosemite there is only one place we would consider staying. This is a little piece or heaven on earth.

“Secluded and Quiet Location -- Great Family Bonding Time”
Reviewed 26 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We spent four nights at the cabin in June and were very happy with it. The cabin itself was clean and more spacious than I thought it would be, even without counting the bunkhouse. The kitchen was stocked with your basics plus extras like PB, condiments, etc. The bathroom and outdoor shower had shampoo, conditioner and soap. Loved spending time on the back porch watching the hummingbirds at the feeder and hearing nothing but sounds of nature. When not in Yosemite, we spent time bonding as a family playing corn hole and bocci ball and at the fire pit and playing board games at the kitchen table. We did not miss not having a TV. Steve and Marty welcomed us and we're happy to help with directions and places to go -- from before we arrived with food shopping tips and after we arrived with local places to visit, such as Little Diana Falls and the swimming hole. Would we return? Yes!
