Owner description: Since opening in January 1999, the Battleship Missouri Memorial has attracted more than 8-million visitors from around the world with a fascinating tour experience showcasing the USS Missouri’s unique place in history. Located a mere ship’s length from the USS Arizona Memorial, the Mighty Mo completes a historical visitor experience that begins with the “day of infamy” and sinking of the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and ends with Japan’s formal surrender aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. The USS Missouri had an astounding career over five decades and three wars – World War II, the Korean War, and Desert Storm – after which it was decommissioned and donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Association operates the Battleship Missouri Memorial as a historic attraction and oversees her care and preservation with the support of visitors, memberships, grants, and donations.

We managed to get a free talk about the Missouri ship with a lady called lynn, who also had someone training with her.

Both were fantastic but lynn’s explanation of facts were clear and precise and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to her knowledge.

Thank you so much for making this a memorable part of our trip!

Highly recommend to join one of the guided talks (its even free!!) amazing!!

What can I say this was so cool and neat to see in person, I would tell everyone to go and check this out, the tour is cool but its better to go on your own and be bold and make it an adventure, its very big and takes some time, have fun

I had only an hour, which was not enough to see this wonderful ship completely. Actual photos of the surrender of Imperial Japan and where it took place. History of the wars this ship was involved in, makes it a worth -see while on a visit to Honolulu.

This is such a great price of history. It's fantastic how the whole ship is pretty much open to the public to tour through. Grab some headsets to listen to the commentary. Saves a lot of reading.
