This was exactly what we wanted--a place in walking distance of the beach, but not as expensive as the resort areas. The place was well-kept and we enjoyed a couple down times in the condo watching tv and resting inbetween excursions. Great place!
The location is on the corner of Ala Wai Blvd & McCully St. which is not too far from downtown Waikiki but if you want Waikiki Beach it's about 2.5 klms (1.6 miles) walk. The Ala Moana Shopping Centre is closer, about 1.6 klms (1 mile). There are ample places to dine nearby but no large supermarkets close by if you want to stock up on supplies for the condo. Plenty of ABC shops nearby but as any local will tell you they are expensive compared to supermarkets. The traffic noise for one of the bedrooms is loud & the beds in both bedrooms at both doubles with a small single jammed in as well so sleeping for 6 is tight. The air conditioner in the condo struggled to keep the place cool although Joanna did arrange for a serviceman to come & check it but all he did was inspect & indicate he would give her a quote. All things considered we enjoyed our 6 night stay here.
The apartment was neat and clean. It is tastefully decorated and has a bright and bold appearance that is nice to come home to after a big day exploring. The apartment has all the comforts of home. The property is very well located on the edge of the canal in Waikiki. It is very well placed to give easy walking access to the touristy Waikiki area and the real life of Honolulu. Highly recommended to all who enjoy apartment style holidays.
