We found the casita through Trip Advisor and made plans for a short stay. Upon arriving, we immediately extended. The casita is right at the end of Canyon Road's gallery district. It's light, bright and comfortable and easily sleeps six. The owner, Susan Dunshee, makes sure that the casita is stocked with everything that you need. Each morning, her generous supply of homemade granola, cookies, fresh baked muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt was greatly appreciated and eagerly consumed. She was even so kind as to send along her recipe for the cookies that my daughter loved so much.
It was a little home away from home and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Planning another within the year.
Thanks, Susan!

Look forward to staying again, unfortunately the charming Casita books quickly and well in advance, so plan ahead! Have only stayed in the detached Casita, but there is a suite attached to the main house that I am sure is equally comfortable.
Tastefully furnished and stocked - all the comforts of home. Warm blankets and plenty of piñon firewood for those cool fall and winter nights. A lovely skylight illuminates the living area. Susan Dunshee stocks her beautiful Casita with fresh fruit, home-made cookies and granola - simply the best, and she even offered pre-printed copies of the recipe, which we have made to everyone's enjoyment.
Susan allows access to her fresh vegetables and herb garden. It is truly classic Santa Fe. We loved that it is detached and more private (we have stayed in plenty of condos and hotels). It is a bit off the beaten path, which is actually is the only potential 'negative'. You can't walk to the town square, but it is a short drive - just keep the margaritas in check or cab it!
Susan is a perfect host. We very much look forward to staying again this fall.

My wife and I just completed our 8th consecutive yearly visit to Santa Fe. On each trip we have stayed either at Susan Dunshee's B&B, an absolutely charming 1 BR wing of the main home, or at the adjacent 2BR "casita" residence, complete with full kitchen, kiva fireplace, and spacious living room. The fact that we have returned to stay with Susan every year speaks more positively than any words of praise I might offer here. The B&B is a dream, with high beamed ceilings, 2 fireplaces (including one in the bedroom for an uniquely romantic experience), and the best homemade breakfasts in Santa Fe, personally cooked and served by Susan. The casita, suitable for more independent living or for a family gathering, contains all of the ingredients needed for a short or long stay. Both are absolutely authentic adobe homes located in the desirable eastside neighborhood, about a 20-25 minute walk to the plaza and 5 minutes or less to Canyon Road. Susan is the perfect hostesss, providing ample firewood so that you can really use the fireplaces on those chilly mountain evenings. But more than location, charm and hospitality, what makes this place so special is the owner herself, whom we have come to think of more as a friend than a proprietor. If you are looking for a non-tourist immersion experience of the real New Mexico, look no further. Just don't try to book Easter week next year: we have already staked our claim!
