I rented The Peacock House for a place to spend quality time with some of my grandchildren. My granddaughter is in the navy stationed at Ft. Sam Houston and the house was perfect for our weekend visit. We felt right at home. Yes their are beautiful peacocks on and around the property. It was fun for us to see them on the roofs and up in the trees. They did not keep us awake! We had made plans to go sightseeing around San Antonio, but after checking in at the house we got so comfortable that we decided to stay in cook, play cards and games. The home is an older home in an older neighborhood but it is very accommodating and very nicely furnished and close to everything. This house is perfect for feeling like your at Grandma's house. We also took our dogs and it was very relaxing weekend. If you need a nice place to feel at home, This is it! Thank you Monica ! The teen grandchildren were not bored at all!!!!!
Very conveniently located in the city, just northwest and minutes from the heart of downtown, this lovely 3 bedroom 2 bath home had every amenity our family of four required. We enjoyed making our own coffee and breakfast every day. We were never more than an 18 minute drive to anything in San Antonio that we wanted to do, 2 minutes from Walmart and 5 minutes to HEB. The adults and preteen girls absolutely adored the peacocks, during the day. There were dozens of them! It felt like we were on a tropical island surrounded by exotic birds that would greet us regularly and a few ate out of our hands. Having said that, the peacocks do disturb your sleep. Our family was generally up early every day to go hike and explore, so this was a minor inconvenience. If your family's goal is to sleep late on a vacation, this might not be the house for you. The only factor keeping our rating from being 5 of 5 stars is the sleep quality. The beds were comfortable, some soft, some firm, but the peacocks do make noise quite late and quite early, so some mornings we felt unrested. I would return to this house in the future if our vacation plans again included being up and out early every day.
