Although animal heads are prevalent on most of the walls, my favorite part was the Texas Ranger Museum. I enjoy history, so this was the perfect place for that! The Bonnie and Clyde exhibit was interesting. We also ate lunch here, and the food was very good.

The Hop-On Hop-Off Bus drivers kept talking about this place so we got off and ate lunch there to say we did. I'd skip this one. Read Trip Advisor about the Texas Ranger Museum and skipped that also. If you like animal heads then go see this.

If your board with the basic tourist riverwalk experience then get over the the Buckhorn Museum. Definitely something you can never see anywhere and worth spending a couple of hours to see. Historic animal walking tour that goes back over a hundred years. Taxadermy at it's greatest plus other special attractions step you back in time when target shooting was a sport and marksman were hero's and idealized for their shooting skills. Restaurant and bar are very good too.

The Buckhorn is bigger than life and full of mounted animal heads. It’s simply a lot of fun to order a drink at the old fashioned bar and pretend you’re the new sheriff in town!

We got a military discount so it was $36 for two adults. We had a stroller and they do have an elevator! It’s a little overwhelming at first because they’re are so many animals! They are all taxidermy. It was neat to see some animals up close that I’d never seen before. Enjoy the stories and take lots of pictures! Downstairs is the Texas Ranger Museum which has lots of history. It was well worth it! You can also enjoy lunch at the saloon and drinks too. The famous 78 point buck head is above the bar!
