Review of Hotel Galleria
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Apr 2016
They offer airport shuttle service. I paid $15 each way. The first room on 3rd floor and a odor in it that I could not handle so was moved to new room 2nd floor. No odor. Adhere to not leave your room window open. Go out the door and turn R, then first road R to main road. Go L on other side about 5 min a little mall. Has shops, grocery store, Ice cream sidewalk shop and bakery. Across street fr hotel is a store with some food items and souvenirs. Go to main road and to the R some restaurants. Hotel offers breakfast ($5). Total oriental. I did not try.

The location was decent, and the room was clean when we arrived, however things quickly went downhill. A tropical storm was approaching, however the hotel galleria appeared to be the only hotel who didn't bother getting fuel for the generator. This left us without any power for many hours, and their help was very limited. They offered cup of noodles, with no way to cook them, and several other more appropriate snacks. Unfortunately, they never came by to take out the trash, so without power or AC the room became quite smelly. The hotel staff was kind, but English communication was limited, all signs were in Japanese and Korean. Without the storm it would have been a nice stay, but knowing all of the other hotels had generator power was disappointing.

In general: Very clean entrance, halls, room, and bathroom. Excellent front desk staff. It's on a side street, but not the scary kind! And pretty thick walls, I don't hear much in the way of doors closing, or talking, or traffic. As a solo business traveler, Galleria Hotel provides exactly what I need for less than half the cost of the Hyatt.

Stayed in rm 304. It's modern, with nice decor, and is surprisingly large. All the in – room amenities you'd expect, plus dual voltage (110/220) outlets. I feel techie with their single remote that controls the TV, AC, and lights. Wireless is included and this afternoon was 2.6 MBps, which is exactly what I got at the Hyatt earlier today. The Queen size bed is very very firm and pillows are good.

Will definitely stay here on my next trip through Saipan as well.

stayed here April 14-19, 2014. Here are my issues with Hotel Galleria:
    1. Big construction project in the hotel which begins at 8am, and lasts all day. Impossible to sleep through it. This project was not disclosed on Expedia, Trip Advisor, or the Hotels website.
    2. Rock hard beds. I woke up in pain, and I'm not picky about firmness of beds.
    3. Bad shower. There is no water pressure unless water is too hot, or too cold. Not to mention the shower head sprayed in all directions except at you.
    4. Front desk repeatedly called our room to pressure us to check out before actual check out time.
    5. Only 6 parking spots for hotel. The lot next door is only for the shopping center, and will tow you.
Thanks for screwing up my holiday Hotel Galleria!!

    Reviewed 26 November 2013

I stayed at this hotel for four nights in mid November 2013.

For Check-in I was greeted by a friendly lady. Everything was ready and i just had to sign the guest registration and got the key. Very smooth! I was guided to my room which was on the 1st floor. (not ground floor, the next one).

The room was a deluxe room having one double and one single bed. Your private bathroom is accessible through a glass door. The room and bath room are spacious. And it was all pretty clean! The pictures on agoda.com do show the actual situation.

The beds are firm. Of course they are not rock hard. They do give in, just not as much as a latex mattress would. The pillows are something i didn't like. The filling was too much for the size. So, it's a pretty high pillow.

Islands have their own challenges. One of them being electricity. I believe this hotel does a fantastic job on keeping the bill/consumption down. No matter if out of cost control or out of necessity. When i arrived the room was hot, because they don't want to cool a room which isn't used. There are other things, the light in the bathroom shuts off automatically after some time (long enough to have shower). There are no water cookers in the room (and no coffee or tea). Instead there is one central water dispenser on each floor providing hot and cold water. The shower water is only really hot during the usual shower times. There are more examples......

I believe that's something a guest should value and appreciate.

The air-con did work well. I mainly used it on 24 degrees and it cooled the entire room just fine. I have to admit though that it was a bit noisy.

Everyday the room was cleaned. I had no reason to complain. One day i had to book a rental car and the hotel helped me to arrange it from a local company. The WiFi in the room was stable. No issue there as well.

The hotel leaflet in the room lists meal times for breakfast and so on. Don't let that mislead you. The hotel does not have a restaurant. I don't see any reason why they should. The location is just so convenient. A short walk away you'll find a Joeten supermarket for self supply or a number of restaurants.

People did complain that this facility doesn't have an elevator. This is true, but, come one, how much luggage will you bring......but, for all who worry, they are right now in the process of installing an elevator.

My stay was simply good. Friendly staff and clean. Central location. I deduct one star out of two reasons. First: Although subjective because of the soso sleep quality. (noisy air con, high pillow). Second: My return flight was a night flight. Meaning, check out at 12 noon, pick up luggage at hotel at around 11 pm and go to airport. Well, it's hot in Saipan and in November chilly where i live. So, i would have appreciated the possibility to enter one room to get changed. But that wasn't granted. A late check out longer than 3 hours is already one night room charge. So, i ended with getting changed in the airport toilet. That does work fine, it's just not that convenient.

When traveling alone or on a budget i would definitely stay there again.

Deluxe room spacious. The beds were hard, was told by housekeepers that the beds were new, from U.S. Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite as well, living room area a bit smaller, beds still are hard as other room. The suites come with a closet/cabinet, no dresser drawers The bedroom space fit only queen size bed. T.V. only in living room. Tile floor only. Only a few channels to watch, only one in English, just news stuff. Complimentary bath essentials convenient. Wi-fi sometimes slow. Windows a bit high and small, felt a bit claustrophobic. A/C and T.V. remote in oriental language. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Parking lot under construction, parking was limited. Running water did not taste salty, compared to like Summer Holiday Hotel, a few blocks down. Because of price, would consider staying again if had cable T.V., and hopefully restaurant will be in operation.
