I stayed at this hotel for four nights in mid November 2013.
For Check-in I was greeted by a friendly lady. Everything was ready and i just had to sign the guest registration and got the key. Very smooth! I was guided to my room which was on the 1st floor. (not ground floor, the next one).
The room was a deluxe room having one double and one single bed. Your private bathroom is accessible through a glass door. The room and bath room are spacious. And it was all pretty clean! The pictures on agoda.com do show the actual situation.
The beds are firm. Of course they are not rock hard. They do give in, just not as much as a latex mattress would. The pillows are something i didn't like. The filling was too much for the size. So, it's a pretty high pillow.
Islands have their own challenges. One of them being electricity. I believe this hotel does a fantastic job on keeping the bill/consumption down. No matter if out of cost control or out of necessity. When i arrived the room was hot, because they don't want to cool a room which isn't used. There are other things, the light in the bathroom shuts off automatically after some time (long enough to have shower). There are no water cookers in the room (and no coffee or tea). Instead there is one central water dispenser on each floor providing hot and cold water. The shower water is only really hot during the usual shower times. There are more examples......
I believe that's something a guest should value and appreciate.
The air-con did work well. I mainly used it on 24 degrees and it cooled the entire room just fine. I have to admit though that it was a bit noisy.
Everyday the room was cleaned. I had no reason to complain. One day i had to book a rental car and the hotel helped me to arrange it from a local company. The WiFi in the room was stable. No issue there as well.
The hotel leaflet in the room lists meal times for breakfast and so on. Don't let that mislead you. The hotel does not have a restaurant. I don't see any reason why they should. The location is just so convenient. A short walk away you'll find a Joeten supermarket for self supply or a number of restaurants.
People did complain that this facility doesn't have an elevator. This is true, but, come one, how much luggage will you bring......but, for all who worry, they are right now in the process of installing an elevator.
My stay was simply good. Friendly staff and clean. Central location. I deduct one star out of two reasons. First: Although subjective because of the soso sleep quality. (noisy air con, high pillow). Second: My return flight was a night flight. Meaning, check out at 12 noon, pick up luggage at hotel at around 11 pm and go to airport. Well, it's hot in Saipan and in November chilly where i live. So, i would have appreciated the possibility to enter one room to get changed. But that wasn't granted. A late check out longer than 3 hours is already one night room charge. So, i ended with getting changed in the airport toilet. That does work fine, it's just not that convenient.
When traveling alone or on a budget i would definitely stay there again.
