The worst ever, do not stay here...

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Apr 2015
This was a horrible way to start off a family vacation to the South Pacific. Online the rooms look spacious and clean, but in person they're anything but. First there is no parking, you have to park in the back of the hotel on the street (Good luck with that) and the stench of dead fish to greet you. Second there is no elevator so definitely be prepared to carry all your bags up the stairs. And last the room was awful, on the internet they show a clean, spacious, modern looking room and it is anything but. The room had a horrible smell, and the air conditioner was turned on when we entered the room. The bathroom was small and a mess, there is a random sink in the corner of the room near the "bar" that doesn't even work, and the place has cockroaches. I believe an employee must be writing the "good" reviews, because there is nothing good to say about this place. Needless to say my family checked out the next morning, and was refunded 2 of the 3 days by expedia. DO NOT STAY HERE, although cheap and in a great location it is AWFUL!!!

Have stayed a few times, with no complaints. Large, Clean rooms. Good location, center of walking street. Islands busiest bars, restaurants in walking distance. Memorial park, with museum, across the street. Full spa massage available ground floor. Tried a walk-in stay, but usually booked. Good stay for the rate.

This was a nice little place, definitely not "high end" but good for the affordable rate. It has a charming entrance and kind staff.

Location Pros: Located in "downtown" Saipan and close to many of the touristy spots, it made for easy sight seeing. Walking distance from the beach, many restaurants, trinket shops, and a grocery store.

Location Cons: If walking around the Garapan area in the evening time, you will get stopped every 10 feet by a different spa company, asking if you want a massage. It does get tiring some times, night after night.

Bed is more like a traditional Japanese bed - hard with a thin mattress. It took a bit to adjust, but I ended up finding this to be surprisingly supportive for my back, and enjoyed it!

Our reservation also came with use of their spa's floral hot tub - but this was a much smaller thing that we expected - and did not have private showers, but just a shower head to the side of the room. A bit too open for us! We did not use this, but we DID enjoy the pedicure we were given (my husband, hesitant at first, found he really enjoyed it! And we have gone back since our initial stay to have friends get pedicures there, too.)

The room was simple, and did not include the coffee maker that was advertised, but when I brought this to the attention of the manager, they swiftly went out and purchased a brand new one for our room!

Air Conditioning in the room worked wonderfully.

Cons:
*Water smelled sulfuric, they do not use air conditioning in the hallways so there was a bit of a humid, musty smell (but that's pretty common in Saipan!)
*I am not an overweight person, but I broke the toilet seat when using it! Eek! Maybe I'm just too heavy since I'm tall

The location is excellent, the management and staff is outstanding, the rooms are big, the service is great, with shopping, restaurants, all around this hotel. Everyone, including the spa staff are so friendly, making one feel like family when staying here. From manicures, pedicures to full massages, you will feel so good and refreshed, ready to take on a day of touring or work! Check this place out and you'll be glad you did. I've used this place on every business trip here over the last year and always was treated with kindness, respect and always attentive to my questions and always helped me when asked. The 'VALUE" here is so great, check out their room prices and you'll be happy you did!

Room tip: Ask for a room not affected by the "Disco" music in front of the hotel. Got a question, just ask the front desk, they got all the "right" answers for you!

We booked our hotel after reviewing the reviews. When we checked in, we were horrified that the room was not clean. There were stench in the room and the beds were in the mess. The towels were hid in the cupboard and looked as they were thrown inside by the former users. We complained to the front desk. They simply told us to bear with it as they were exceptionally busy and we should be understanding on this. They sent the housekeeping half an hour later. However, we felt no apologies were given by them and words from them were totally unnecessary.

Throughout our 3 days stay there, we were pestered by the staff to do the massage which is on the first floor and we need to pass by it whenever we go to our hotel. We were totally vexed by them and choose to return to our room by the back door.

We realized all the staff were Chinese national from China though the hotel is run by a Japanese boss. The staff were pushy and rude. We always see them soliciting for business at the main entrance.

We regretted for staying in this hotel though the price might be slightly cheaper than the rest but the experience is terrible.

Room tip: If you have big or heavy luggage, you will need to carry it up to at least 3 stories to reach your room. The 2nd floor were used if for their business. We always see men customers on the 2nd floor for their services. For what kind of service, we better dun comment here.
