PROS: Great value for money, clean, safe, nice design and well-maintained (very new hotel as of 2016). Spacious rooms with many practical amenities such as kettle + tea and coffee, in-room safe, hair dryer, mini-fridge, free WiFi, nice toiletries. Comfortable beds and nice pillows. Efficient, friendly check-in. Close to restaurants, shopping, and the Memorial Park. Free on-site parking. CONS: Poor soundproofing (hence 4 rating vs 5); noise from tacky 'I Love Saipan' store promotions (across the road), as well as from construction of the mega-tacky casino next door. Rooms without a street view (car park side) would be quieter, and to be honest, the street is not much of a view anyway. Management does not do enough to ensure guests don't disturb other guests. Review: We stayed here late December 2016 - early January 2017. Staff were pleasant and helpful, but this is a budget hotel in Saipan terms, and so don't expect a concierge or 5-star service. There is a separate tour desk in the lobby. Free coffee in the lobby. We did have one issue with front desk staff - we booked a rental car for part of our stay, and when the representative came to drop off the car for us, the staff rang the wrong room and told them we weren't there. Fortunately we called the rental car company before the rep left, as we wondered why he hadn't turned up. They told us he was just leaving as he was told we weren't there. We told the staffperson at the front desk that we hadn't heard the phone ring, and he said he had called the wrong room, but was not especially apologetic. Despite this lapse in professionalism, we would recommend the Serenti as a convenient and good-value base for exploring Saipan.
