On entering, the restaurant seemed pleasant with good decor. I ordered grilled fish which ended up being dry and chewy/hard at the ends. I was made uncomfortable when ordering fish after asking about vegetarian options. Not be my preferred restaurant in Franz.

For out of country folk, bring your passports for id if you want to buy alcohol. They wouldn't take our drivers licenses which was incredibly annoying. We only wanted a glass of wine. While our waiter was nice (all four of them), the manager swooped in like a hall and denied our drinks because we didn't have a NZ license or passport on us. Then our bill was mixed up with another table and we had two desserts come out to us that we didn't order. We asked the staff to remove them and they did. While we had 4 different staff ask us to order, no one came to check on us during our meal and we had to get up to pay because no one came to take our card. We only ordered a pizza which was okay. Overall disappointed and will find another place to eat for the next few days while we are in town.

Firstly I felt rushed by the staff to order, which is never good. Then, any restaurant that uses 'Chicken Tonight' sauce and passes it off as a satay should not be serving chicken satay. As someone who is mildly obsessed with peanut satay, I was incredibly disappointed....I've had that sauce at home, didn't need it in a restaurant at 10x the price thanks

The location of this restaurant on the corner mix up easily accessible to anymore your stay to anywhere you're staying in Franz Josef. My wife at the lamp shanks and I had the roast pork. Both were very tasty and both were very good portions. The staff tag teamed tables, so your water never ran dry and if you needed anything, they were right on top of it. Highly recommended if you're staying or passing through.

Visited this restaurant twice while staying in Franz Josef, both times the food was good and staff were friendly. Large TVs and free good quality free wifi access.
