More like a hotel than a Backpacker!

The room room was smaller than a hotel room, but was very comfortable, cozy even. The bathroom was nice - only didn't like that the window was right at the staircase to the upper level. Really enjoyed our stay!

Great location, rubbish wifi, good facilities. Definitely recommend. Walking distance to the town. The site has a bar/club which is very sociable and a free spa. It's set in a forest and has a very natural and relaxing feel to it. We had a secluded bay for the camper which made it private.

We stayed 2 nights on a powered site and they are very private, lots of vegetation.
Good location in Franz Josef, 5 minutes walk from the main street.
Kitchen and toilets are very clean.
Free BBQ available.
It was a pleasant stay.

The sites were spacious and located in the rainforest. Facilities were good and clean. Great experience and close to the glaciers. Used the glacier transfer to access the glacier which was excellent. Didn't use the hot tubs as busy but looked great

We had three powered sites for a two night stay in order to visit the glaciers. The weather was not good, it rained but the gravel base prevented it from becoming a muddy mess. The facilities were clean, not over crowded.

We also used the hot pool and walked on the short walk in the camp, all well done.

We stayed here for two nights on a powered site with our campervan. We very much enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it. There is a very nice atmosphere with the rainforest surrounding you at all sides. The kitchen, toilet, and bathing facilities are ok and cleaned often - we missed an oven though. When arriving, the girl at the reception, Mel, encouraged us to let her know if there was anything she could help us with. As it turned out, we had managed to forget four shoes at our former campsite some 200km away (all of them for the right foot… so from four different pairs of shoos). Our kids had been playing hide-and-seek with them and we all forgot about that until we needed them. Yes… we should have known better. Although Mel had probably been thinking more along the lines of helping out with stuff like which trails to walk and so, when we, embarrassed but also frustrated by the potential loss of good hiking boots, asked her for help, amazingly, she managed to get them for us by getting them on a bus heading our way! Naturally, we were surprised but also very grateful! With receptionists like that, future visitors are in very capable hands! :-)
