My son chose this restaurant for brunch purely based on the name. The restaurant was empty which is never a good sign. I asked for an English Breakfast tea and was asked multiple times if I wanted a long or short black tea??? I then ordered bacon and eggs. They were almost inedible - scrambled eggs were made on water not milk. I was starving so ate it anyway and didn't have the heart to tell them how bad it was as I knew they were trying - we were asked numerous times if we were enjoying our meal. Maybe they are used to people telling them they didn't like the food.

Where to start, well my wife ordered french toast and asked for something simple like replacing the bacon with a scoop of ice cream, his response was no sorry we dont have ice cream. I ordered a big breakfast with fried eggs. And we both ordered a milkshake, which surprisingly had guess what... this non existant ice cream. While waiting for our meals we noticed that both water glasses were dirty as was 1 set of cutlery, when our meals came out the french toast was cold and tougher than a well done steak, i literally asked my wife if she needed a steak knife to cut it. Before he even put my plate on the table i pointed out the poached eggs, he explained that it was actually someone elses and he took that plate back and came back with my correct breakfast, and surprise... everything was cold apart from the hash browns. With the incompetence up until this point, and my wife not wanting me to make a scene, i didnt bother asking for it to be re-made and we ate our crap breakfast saying to each other "im glad we never have to eat here again". Worst breakfast in our 3 weeks in NZ.

We ate lunch here when passing through on a very wet day.
We chose to sit outside under a giant rain sail. The were heaters all around us keeping us warm.
The staff were very nice and took our order promptly.
The food was tasty but the standout for me was the side salad. It had the best dressing I've ever had.
