The food here is better than average, although a bit pricey and with portion sizes on the small side by New Zealand standards. But what sets this restaurant apart is the spectacular views of Mt. Tasman and Mt. Cook that one can enjoy either sitting outdoors on the large patio or through a glass wall from the comfortable interior. Another feature is the highly original architecture of the building, with a soaring roofline that seems very much in keeping with the mountainous surroundings.
