We visited and enjoyed very tasty meals in a mock English pub. Great menu at reasonable prices. Good choice of beers.
I had the lamb shanks and found my choice of two shanks very filling. Unless youre a big eater just have one shank!

3 Irish girls on a road trip had the best time here, met all the locals, had the best craic, Brian became our best friend and showed us around Renwick wine region.Larry & Wanda the beautiful hosts, cant forget Aaron our Irish barman (Dougal) who will probably be there in 20 years time. The best part of the bar was the people, we were only there for 2 days but felt like home, great people..the highlight of our whole trip to NZ!! Love you guys!! Xx hope someday we'll meet again..will never forget you lovely crazy kiwis!! Xx

We were recommended to go here and previous reviews rated it. I was disappointed. My steak was warm and not cooked sufficently. And the chips could have been cooked a little more. Atmosphere was great as you would expect from an English pub. However dont rest on your laurels, I dontbthink you coped with the influx of patrons when we were there and rushed the meals. Not bothered to try again

I and my companion rode bicycles from where we were staying to the pub.
The pub had had a good range of beers and very good pub meals, served in a good ambience. Well worth a visit. It was dark by the time we were due to leave and our bikes had no lights! We were going to walk the busy road back. However, the landlord insisted on loading our bikes into his vehicle and drove us home. Superb service.

we had dined out in so many upscale restaurants over the past 25 days that this Pub was exactly what we need. However, besides the standard pub grub it also offers a full service menus with fresh fish, beef, lamb, venison and pizza just to name a few items from the menu, Service was outstanding and there was a mix of families and couples there the night we dined and many were locals which says a lot.
