We used 4 bed dorms. Clean. Shared bathrooms but no problem at all. Kitchen was clean and cosy to seat after meal. Very quiet and out of the main road. A 10-15 min walk to the city centre.
Even have some kind of a ZOO with some animals that are not from the region.
Friendly, kind and helpful owners!!

We stayed for one night when we were passing through from Picton to Christchurch. We stayed in the camp ground, not the motel or cabins.
The ablution block was dirty and the shower walls filthy. Lovely setting, but wouldn't stay again. The trees on the edge of the drive way require cutting back to stop the branchs damaging the side of your campervan / caravan.
The cost to stay for a night was approx $40

Whilst I got a good response by email we were disappointed with the site when we arrived. $6 for WiFi plus 50 cents for showers on top of $40+ for the night! Limited facilities. Showers were not very clean and water went everywhere. No utensils in the kitchen which was poorly equipped. Overall impression was a run down campsite, which needs some investment and definitely not up to the Kiwi brand standard

The facilities at this Park were VERY dirty and the place generally looked shoddy and unkempt. I could not believe that a page in a tattered Compendium claimed the Park had gained a Qualmark 4 Star plus rating! It would barely gain 1 star. There was mould and mildew in the showers, the wall linings of which were coated in soap scum, the kitchen was no better in terms of cleanliness. Such a shame, as when this place was first built, it was a fabulous Holiday Park.

We decided to take a break from camping and booked the cabin with Kitchen via the phone on the morning of arrival. The cabin is also described on the internet as having a Kitchen. On arrival it turned out that the kitchen is no more than a counter and basin. The description further down the advert advise that its for breakfast and a full communal kitchen is available. Problem was there was no fridge space in the communal kitchen and the fridge was manky too.
We took this up with reception. No alternate option were available and the cabin did not deliver what was advertised. We did not want to stay and got a refund for the second night only in spite of departing soon after arrival. This is misleading advertising. To use the word kitchen with nothing more than a sink is ridiculous. Competitors with the same description and price range offer cooking appliances, fridge, dining table, micro. I think the owners need to revise their advert and price or do a refurbishment, but this is not what we come to expect from Kiwi resorts. This lesson cost us a wasted 125 NZ that they would not refund. :-(

Room tip: Ensure you know exact;y what you getting. The bragging and awards seems to be for their top rooms only.
