We probably expected a bit more than we ended up with but it was suitable for one night. Quite a small bed room but we did have an en suite (not all rooms do). There was a very large shared kitchen facility - no facilities in the room. Likewise a very large comfortable guests lounge.
The area we were in is an old building, adequately redecorated and comfortable enough. Limited TV both in terms of channels available and screen size.

Thank you for your review, I believe you have stayed in our very small room called the snug. We will consider ways we can add to the experience in this room. Its a balancing act to not clutter yet provide useful extras. The tv will be a good starting place. :-)

My husband and I chose to stay here last minute and we both totally loved it. Warm, cozy and private. The best sleep I've had in a long long time. Thank you for your hospitality. we will definitely be back.

A last minute overnight stay on our way north. Was a very welcoming arrival. Great room with a comfortable bed. Very clean. The kitchen facilities and Lounge are superb. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoy the facilities on offer. Thank you very much.

My family and I arrived with our small dog after a long drive from up north (Mangonui) and it was the perfect place to stay. Michelle was so welcoming.
The room was warm and toasty, with heaters already on which is great seeing as it’s winter. It was also tidy and spacious. We booked the family room with view from balcony.
A lovely big double bed and two cosy single beds for my children. We were made to feel at home, encouraged to use the facilities We enjoyed the hot tub. Kids even took a plunge in the pool.
There was a beautiful main lounge with a lovely gas fire running, classic games, which the kids were excited about and blankets if you wanted to sit outside or just keep warm.
Our room had everything you needed if you wanted to cook or get takeaways and have a meal around the table. Also included ground coffee and a plunger.
Close to all amenities, places to eat within 5 minutes walking distance. A supermarket 10 minutes away.

It meant a lot to us that our dog could stay with us as she is part of the family. Fair that the dog needed it’s own bed, she used her crate and it was great. Felt like home away from home thanks to the friendly staff.
Will be staying again.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review. We are so pleased your whole family (including pet) enjoyed your stay. We have had lots of success allowing dogs as the appreciative owners are careful with our premises and enjoy the holiday more having the dog with them. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

This is a stone's throw from the town.. A wonderful old manor (apparently the former head police officer's house not surprising as police station next door). Small basic bedrooms, but comfortable for a couple of nights. The shared lounge and kitchen are absolutely stand out: high ceilings, kauri joinery/fireplace, grand proportions. kitchen totally tricked out and a joy.. outdoor deck and pool/gardens lovely but too cold to dip in last week. Check in/out a breeze and personable.. and a Lodge Cat to top it off. Top stars in an expensive town.
