My son and I completed our open water dive certificates with Cathedral Cove Dive. We choose these guys because we love Hahei’s beach and coastline, and these guys were highly recommended by a mate.

Fair to say that I underestimated what was required to complete the certificate and it ended up being 3 pretty intense but amazing days of education and diving. Our dive instructor Grace was fantastic, she was incredibly experienced and patient and is a natural teacher who provided clear instructions and demonstrations for each skill and plenty of encouragement and support as we went through our own routines.

The rest of the boat and land crew were excellent and made sure we were comfortable and had all the right gear and advice to complete our certificates.

The dive environment was beautiful with 8-10m visibility consistently, diverse terrain, crystal clear water and plenty of marine life including stingrays, heaps of fish and some crayfish.

We’ll be heading back in summer to do some more diving!
