Our 7th year stay at this warm friendly Apart/Hotel. January/February. Ideal for a quiet winter break. It is. like coming home such a warm friendly welcome from Raxel, Joanne and Madeline. Full of local knowledge and always up for a friendly chat.
We stayed in a one bed apartment facing St Paul's Bay. This side offers sun on the balcony most of the day ideal at this time of year. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen with modern appliances. Domestic service was excellent . Katia who looked after the apartment did an excellent job and made sure all our needs were kept to a high standard.
Maintenance were on the ball. (Experienced a leaking tap , reported this in the morning
A new tap replaced the day after )Well done Michael.
We used the indoor pool most days. Very warm and quiet this time of year.
Glanced in the newly refurbished Gym and Games room, looked modern and very clean.
There is a shop, restaurant and bar all to a high standard. With very friendly staff.
For a budget 3 star hotel they do a brilliant job catering for all your needs. Anything you need if they can get it for you they will . Alexis Meylaq always there to make sure you are enjoying your stay at Porto. Very friendly lady.
A short walk down the road to a bus stop . Buses taking you to any location on the island.
Looking forward to returning to the Porto Azzurro next year.

We are here for business and I should say that I've be never seena a hotel as undecent as this one. Everything is dirty, the breakfast is nothing, the glasses and the plates and the cups are DIRTY, the room is nor arranged and cleaned, no bath gel!!!
No WIFI connection in the reception.. nor in the rooms obviously. No maps of the distrcit available. TV out of order. What more!!!!!
Really I am surprised at seeing the TRIP ADVISOr EXCELLENCE simbol on the door of this hotel as it soed not deserve not even a mention in TRIP ADVISOR. Should be taken out as aoon as possible. Just not to defraud the travellers.

Room Tip: Do not choose this hotel please!!

Thank you for taking the time to convey your comments regarding your recent stay with us. As an esteemed guest of ours we greatly appreciate your loyalty to our hotel. I am very disappointed to hear of the inconveniences you experienced during your stay.

Wifi connection is free at the Lobby however for Wifi in the rooms, we have vouchers which can be purchased from reception. Our reception is open 24/7 therefor if the TV was out order, it should have been reported at the reception. It is not fair to write that we are 'undecent' as this is surely not the case. It is very important to complain while inhouse rather then commenting on Trip advisor after departure.

Once again, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. We all hope that you would give us another chance to make your experience more comfortable.

Porto Azzurro
We enjoyed a great self catering holiday at Porto Azzurro between 11th November and 9th December 2016. It was a few degrees warmer than when we left the UK. It has a cheerful view in the early morning sunshine; from our room on the fifth floor, overlooking the countryside and the tip of St Paul's Bay.

The hotel is situated in a quieter part of Malta than the really noisy tourist areas, but is within easy reach of most of the island by bus or by car. There are several bus routes available within a 100 yards from the hotel.

There is a very happy atmosphere at the hotel, as many of the staff have chosen to work there for a lifetime? We have been coming here now for over ten years and see mostly the same staff year after year. If ever there is a problem, it will quickly and efficiently resolved by Alexis, the Guest Relations & Sales Officer, but this is rarely necessary.

The hotel has a Mini Market and an indoor swimming pool next to an exercise room, as well as an outside pool with a sunbathing area for sunny days. There is also a poolside bar.

We enjoy it so much here that we choose to return again and again.

Despite that I have been degraded here, I want to review Porto Azzurro. The staff here was overall very friendly and competent, except for Harry and the younger women in the restaurant, that caused some psychologigal problems. I guess though, that the girl was an educated bartender. The room was as shown on the picture. Nothing to complain about, except that the bed was a little hard. Nothing wrong with the cleaning. The buffet was a full buffet with a few new things every day. Nothing wrong with the taste and the preparation. It was winter/spring, so the outdoor pool was closed, but they held the warmed up indoor pool open for late arrivers. There was a spabath and fitnessquipment as well, tablefootball and a pooltable!The bus for the airport runs just outside the hotel. It takes 57 min. to the airport. There are also frequent buses to Cirkewa(where you get the ferry to Gozo) and Valetta. The hotel also had a minimarket. A bonus for me was some adorable kittens on the backstairs.(they were not allowed in).

Room Tip: You pay 2 euro a day for using the safety in the room. If you only have little to store, you can use your little box in the reception.

Gave myself a lovely treat for the New Year going back to my favourite place @ Porto Auzzurro. Indeed nothing let me down,was lovely to be back as usual.Never been to Malta at that time of year before & mostly sunny but perhaps a little colder than what I`d anticipated but Hey! considerably warmer than the UK. As usual I was warmly greeted by everyone.All the staff are kind & helpful & though this time I had a few maintenance jobs needed in my room,they were very quickly rectified,so thankyou Michael. Alexis is always available should you need any advice or help with any concerns & of course any future bookings. All receptionists will help in anyway they can too & will pass this on to Alexis if its necessary & she will make every effort to bring satisfaction. My room was a self catering studio,with a comfortable bed.At times I needed the heating on which worked perfectly well.The maids always are friendly & do what is needed,bringing clean towels etc. When its time for me to leave I`m sad,as everyone is so friendly,& I always enjoy my stay & so!,until the next time!.
