Description: At OW Lana a cosy atmosphere can be experienced, whatever the season, dining in either of our main restaurant rooms. One decorated with contemporary art by established and well known artists, exhibited on rotation, with windows opening onto the garden terrace. Our second room is a more traditional with its long history, decorated in wooden paneling offering a warm and romantic atmosphere for couples and groups alike. Set between these rooms is the bar area with a fireplace and further seating. The garden terrace is especially popular in spring and summer months but is used most of the year. There are plenty of parasol umbrellas to create shade during the sunny summer afternoons and the tables are decorated with unique objects which reflect and change with the seasons. A peaceful and romantic place to spend an evening in this historic square of Lana. We think you will find the attention to detail quite refreshing in whichever space you decide to dine with us.

It's one of those magical experiences that occur, not that often, when you are on holiday. Visiting the beautiful Trentino region, in North-East Italy, we came to osteria Oberwirt, in Lana, for the festival aimed at showcasing cooking with local herbs. Oberwirt was simply splendid: the food, intense flavours of the local produce, the hospitality of Renato and his team superb and the restaurant cosy and original, with tempting bowls of fruits on each table.

Renato, the host, was courteous and attentive: he gave us a little parcel of 'brutti ma buoni' biscuits (delicious) to take away and a tour of his vegetable garden, the atmosphere heady with the fresh early summer smells of herbs and lavender.

As the evening progressed, a friendly chat with next-table neighbours, returning guests, added to the pleasures of the food and the place.

A splendid osteria and splendid hospitality in this fabulous corner of North-East Italy, in Lana, very close to Merano and the Dolomites.

This is not a vegetarian restaurant but, as discerning vegetarians, we loved it and recommend it with pleasure.

We had seen reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to make a reservation. The restaurant itself is very appealing and beautifully decorated. The service from the seating to the check was outstanding. Without being obtrusive our waitress was there to give more water, bread and even more ice without ever asking. The owner dropped by to make sure all was to our liking. The food was well prepared with fresh and locally grown vegetables. The pasta was cooked just right, the specials were unusual combinations, but perfect to the taste. Our party has risotto, lasagna and shrimp. Every dish was exception. Each table is decorate with a basket of fruit. The owner brought us some cherries as well. We were offered an after dinner drink but passed on dessert(too full). I guarantee you will not be disappointed..

Excellent food and wine. They serve fantastic selection of antipasti and main courses. We came back twice it was so good. Very nice and friendly staff. The food is an excellent fusion between traditional and modern. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful table settings with the huge jars of fresh cherries on each table. The hosts were very attentive and knowledgeable and the food was first class. Out of all of our order the pasta dish was the weakest - so maybe try other things on the menu first.

A very good restaurant with "slow food" philosophy, Mr. Renato- the owner - creates a unique food experience with local ingredients and homemade pasta dishes
