“Excellent choice for our holiday”

We stayed in Dommu Asuletta (husband, wife and 2 daughters in 20s) for 8 nights. The house was well equipped and very central being in the old centre of Bosa. The town had everything – excellent restaurants and bars, a reliable bus service to the beach, choice of quite a number of supermarkets within walking distance (we didn’t hire a car) and, if you search it out, there is good live music too. The house was delightful although some of the doorways were a little low. We availed ourselves of the beach umbrellas the owner had provided and there were buckets, spades, nets etc for families with children younger than ours. It was hot at night in June and we had to sleep with windows open – there was occasionally a little late night noise but not enough to cause disturbance or wake us.
We had a lovely holiday and hope to be back!

The owners were extremely helpful and friendly before we went to Bosa. They gave us lots of information about the house, the town of Bosa and the surrounding area. Their contact in the town was also very helpful. The house was interesting, " a hobbit house" . It was well equipped with a lovely kitchen and roof terrace/ dining area.

“Relaxing town off the tourist track, very central and comfortable accomodation”

This unusual house is actually typical of the houses in this lovely medieval town. With 57 steps from front door to roof terrace it will keep you fit while you eat wonderful meals and drink chilled Vermentino and Malvasia as the sun sets.

We spent 11 days here and Bosa grew and grew on us as time went by We enjoyed the castle, views, churches, walking along the river and meandering around the alleys. The people at Silvano Chelo, a deli very close to the house, were so friendly and we bought our daily pastries, bread, ham and cheese from them. Thanks for the advice re the fab pizza in Via del Ginnasio. Went there several times. A useful way to keep refueling ravenous teenage boys. The fruit and veg shop across the road from the pizzeria had great produce and the couple running it are very charming. The fish shop a few doors down was also very good.

We had a good meal at Borgo Sant' Iganzio and an excellent meal at Ponte Vecchio, sitting alongside the river on a hot night without a breath of wind. On our last night we ate around the corner at the place on Via del Pozzo which was a bit patchy foodwise, although the atmosphere was lovely.

Had gelato almost daily at Ice Dream - worked our way through the selection of flavours.

In Alghero I would highly recommend a restaurant called Paco which was brilliant - ate there twice. It is at Largo S. Francecso alongside a fountain in the old city.

If you get to Alghero it is worth making time to visit the Grotte di Nettune - we took the steps which were not nearly as bad as the reviews make out. The views from the cliffs are spectacular and the caves are a tremendous sight.

Our favourite beach was Cumpultitu which we found by seeing a postcard of it and asking where it was. It is only a 10 minute drive from Bosa on the Alghero road. Take food and drink and be prepared to clamber down the hill. Worth every bit of effort. Our second favourite beach was S'Abba Druche where we also spent many afternoons. You pay 7 euros for the day and there is a restaurant and beach bar, loos and parking, The third beach we really liked was La Speranza near Alghero.

We spent a day exploring the nuraghe in the area - they were fascinating. Went to the Santa Barbara, the Losa and to the one at Santa Cristina where the well shrine is just mind boggling. We spent another day down in Tharros and found some beautiful beaches down there too.

Aside from the doorways, we really enjoyed the house.Everything worked which is not our usual experience when renting holiday homes so that was wonderful. We have had problems before with sewage leaking, electricity and hot water not working, uncomfortable beds etc etc. So it was great to enjoy a house that just works well.

I notice that one of your previous guests requested wi fi. What a relief not to have the kids constantly on the ipad looking up the football scores and so on.

Overall - a very successful and relaxing holiday. Thanks for all the info you provided beforehand and the welcome pack which was most helpful. You are without doubt the best 'landlord' we have had in nearly 15 years of self catering accommodation.
