This hotel has the friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever experienced. Located near the top of the mountain with fabulous views from every angle, it occupies a former monastery around a beautiful old Romanesque chapel. The ex-cells provide rather pokey standard rooms, but we paid extra to be moved to a suite facing the coast. The food is excellent local fare, the bar does a mean cocktail, and the swimming pool is clean and large. Essential to have a car, although there is a shuttle to the nearest beach.

Room tip: rooms either overlook the sea or the mountainside and coast;standard a bit pokey

Beautiful views from a hotel sat atop a hill! Felt like we were n another world. Absolutely recommend eating at their restaurant. Owners also offer a shuttle to the beach if you don't have a car or don't want to drive. We didn't get a chance but it was said to us to make sure to walk the grounds as they hotel is a huge park. Would advise to get a room that is away from the entrance to the hallway.

My family and friends stayed at this hotel for three nights for a family wedding. What a stunning location. Rooms comfortable. Service great. Views from the hill top are out of this world. Lovely pool to relax by in the lovely sunshine. An idyllic weekend

I checked in to stay two nights. I cannot leave because I will be charged if I do. The view is fantastic. Come have a drink in their "American Bar" and stay somewhere else. The rooms are small. I managed to renegotiate and get a room with a bath tub which is a very difficult thing since they on,y have a hand full. Otherwise you have a shower stall too small to shave your legs ladies.

The restaurant is the worst I've experienced in my 18 months living in Italy. There is a "buffet" for the antipasti. Who knows how long it sat out wilting but I declined. You should too. I ordered the soup of vegetables, which was a mush of whatever with no taste whatsoever. I had a secondi of mixed grilled fish. What I was served was a plate with one charred gamberi, two breaded pieces of undetermined fish and a third breaded funky fish thing. I tried hard. I was hungry. It was disgusting. Greasy. No flavor. Not hot. Do they just keep a warming tray with inedible fish? DO NOT EAT HERE.

The staff is aloof, the hotel cold in decor and the rooms small and the television is so small there is no way you could see anything p,aged on it even though they advertise having cable and pay channels. Seriously. Oh and the bath amenities? Tiny bars of soap, no hair products. One skimpy linen bidet towel and a companion skimpy hand towel.

This hotel has a premier location. Whoever owns it should sell it. Let a true hotelier run it. It should be a Relais & Chateau. Or a Leading Hotels property. Instead it is a sad example of a property ignored by an owner who won't invest a dime to even provide a decent meal.

SHAME ON YOU!!!

Cara Signora,

Fantastic location with great views. The rooms were a little small but adequate.
The actual place was interesting but inspite of allowing dogs, if booked in advance, the head waiter told us he would.nOt allow dogs in the dinning room. He was over ruled by the boss and then sat us off in a side alley and gave us the set menu, even though we did not want it. The experience effected us so that so we eat out the rest of our time, actually we found better restaurants locally.

Room tip: Sea view essentials
