“Fresh Seafood at Neighborhood Prices”

Court House Seafood Restaurant
Ranked #154 of 671 Restaurants in Cambridge
Cuisines: American, Seafood
Description: In 1912 Courthouse Seafood Market opened in the Portuguese community of East Cambridge. The Damaso family came here from Portugal and like many others found Court House Seafood Market to be a touch of home in their new land. Young Al Damaso's father asked the owner if he might have a job for his son. In 1967 Al bought the Market from the retiring Mr. Travis. Al expanded the scope of the market, then came upon the idea of preparing the fish so local families would have a place to buy quality food that they did not have to cook at home. In 1987 the Damaso family opened the separate restaurant next door from the market, splitting the business into two distinct stores located next to each other. Both businesses are thriving today, staffed by family members Eddy, Joe, and Diane, along with an extended family of dedicated coworkers. Courthouse Seafood is committed to providing you with fresh seafood and friendly service.

Sure, great lobster roll (cold only) and crab roll are a given. However, the wide variety of seafood specials on the daily white board reflects the best of the day’s catch and direct from their own seafood shop 2 doors away. Whether fried or sautéed , these folks know fish and prepare it very well. The place is very casual and people come and go from the ten or so tables quickly. Do not be put off by the paper plates and almost fast food look, the food is first rate and a bargain. Worth a detour.

This was a great restaurant to meet friends and enjoy a good meal. The friendly staff and good service helps us to want to go back. Stop in and give it a try.

We saw this place while driving along Cambridge Street, and we were attracted by the fact that few doors down, there is a fish market with he same name.
What a discovery! The place is spartan, but clean. Not a lot of tables. You order at the counter and then you wait for your food.
Short wait, by the way. Excellent food at very reasonable prices.
It was past 2pm, but there were several patrons, apparently locals.
The only negative issue is that it closes early (7pm & 6pm Saturdays) and it is closed Sunday and Monday.
Parking it's not easy to find, but the this restaurant will provide ample compensation to your efforts.

This is my second day in a row here eating their really great clam chowder. When they are busy it's hard to get a seat. But the atmosphere is family like. Great place hope to eat here again before I leave.
