This was a great location in the heart of Seattle- "steps away from the harbor", Pike Place Market and many good restaurants. Apartment was spacious with all the basic amenities, albeit somewhat spartanly furnished. However, it was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The check-in process was very frustrating. Noone was available to admit me into the building, and my repeated requests were not answered. I was finally able to gain entry with the assistance of another guest. This is where a hotel check in was sorely missed. All in all, though I was very pleased with my stay, Alfred- whoever you are!
Walking distance to Pikes Market, Safeco Field, the Space Needle and downtown shopping and restaurants is a huge plus. Stay Alfred's units are in 2 - 15 story buildings with a pleasant green space in the middle. These buildings are getting tired although the mechanics are still fine. Elevators are quick and clean, the pool is kept clean, security is good. The rooms themselves are within Stay Alfred's control and are not updated. Don't believe the brightly colored paintings and the multi-tone bed coverings; the units are basic drab: old carpets, sinks that don't hold water when the plug is down, and slat curtains that can't possibly create darkness. The beds were comfortable and the towels were fine. And you're there to see Seattle, not stay in your room, right?
Highly recommend staying in one of their units in Harbor Steps Condos. Very convenient to Pike Place, SAM, and waterfront. parking garage is $30/day - reasonable and 24 hr access...better than public garages nearby- they lock down at night...esp when you have to leave extra early to fly home...always someone at the pay/exit station. Better to walk to the market, etc. than drive & find parking...if you are staying awhile, go to the market first thing, bring home a gorgeous bunch of flowers for $15 and make the condo smell & feel like home! excellent restaurants within a block or two...Elliotts on the wharf, Lecosho, Noi, Japonessa, are all within 2 blocks...the ONLY two negatives are: if Seattle is having a heat wave, (80's) there is no A/C...its just not necessary in that town...but it can happen...and remember you are staying in the CITY...so sirens, loud music, etc. can happen at all hours...but if you have headphones, and close the blinds during the day, you will be fine...
This was the perfect apartment in a brilliant location. Very clean with all mod cons. Everything worked out well, though it was a bit tricky getting and returning the keys, which were in a different building.
Our 2d stay. Very clean comfortable well equipped apartment in excellent location. Stay Alfred reps are very helpful. Good value given hotel prices in Seattle.
