“Marcos Colella”

Blue Sky Outfitters Whitewater Rafting
Reviewed 14 August 2017

I recently rafted the Wenatchee with Marcos Colella at Blue Sky... What a trip! Besides being extremely knowledgeable, Marcos made the trip fun, and exciting while considering the safety of all in our raft and in the other four rafts with us. In an industry that is seasonal with river guides that are youthful and looking for temporary seasonal employment, Marcos quickly excels in his experience on the water. Blue Sky should be honored to have such an experienced river raft guide. Thank you Marcos for a GREAT experience! ALWAYS ASK FOR MARCOS! He is definitely the best of the best...

Thank Marion T

Visited on Aug. 5. Was looking for a mid-day activity for myself and the Ms. before driving up to Chelan, so we chose to float with them on the Wenatchee. Overall super relaxing, plenty of time to stop and swim, cool & clear water, and nice gear (NRS tubes with bungee cords and carabiners). Easy check in, quick shuttle up and kind staff at the shore. Did not get the cooler but was able to bring a few pocket-drinks and a ziploc bag for keys/wallet. Water is calm and slow moving, perfect for a lazy saturday :)

We made a last minute decision to river raft (booked the same day). We made the 2 hour trip from Seattle and this rafting experience did not disappoint. They provided wet suits for those in our party that needed them (wear your bathing suit if you can). They also provided water shoes. After a quick van ride we made it to our river entrance. Before we entered, we had a rafting lesson and went over river rafting safety. Our guide ( I never caught his name but the day we went was his birthday and the other guide was Amber) was easy to understand and very thorough on explaining safety and making sure everyone's lifejacket was put on correctly. This was a first time rafting experience for two in our party and they were also 64 and 69 years old. Neither of these were an issue. Our birthday boy guide made us all feel very comfortable and was very clear on instructions while on the river. He was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable about rafting and the area. He made the entire experience super fun! Thanks for a fun time. We hope to visit again!

Hello,

We are so glad that you had such a great time out on the water! Sweeney is one of our best guides and it's awesome to hear that he made your trip both safe and enjoyable. Hopefully we can get you out on the river next season!

2nd trip with Blue Sky. Impressed both times.

Just did the Tieton River outside of Yakima, WA. A solid river with class 3/4 rapids almost the entire route. About a 2hr rafting trip.

Ariel, our guide, challenged us to ride the puma, a smaller, lighter, more maneuverable raft among there fleet. He recognized our group's fitness level and pushed the envelope making the trip non-stop adrenaline without ever fearing for our safety. I will ask for him again when we go back.

He prepared us well, captained the boat like a master and had everyone laughing all ride long. We conquered high-noon head on, did some pillows and the even tried the splat. Our only regret was that we became the first swim team for Ariel all season.

We had perfect Eastern WA weather (low 80s and sunny) and happened to be there when the river was running at 100%.

Can't wait to do it again.

Decided to go tubing with my sis and her 4 teenage kids. Found this place last minute on our way driving to Leavenworth from snohomish Washington. Most places that offer inner tube rides cost between $20 and $25, and offer a discounted rate for kids 12 and under. Unfortunately this place was not one of them. Total cost for 6 was $147 to rent 6 inner tubes, regardless of the age. You book a time slot, park your car, and only bring what you absolutely need, as there is nowhere to hold your things once you get there. If you forget your sunscreen or waterproof phone case, you can always buy them here for a pretty penny! ($11 for sunscreen and $10 for waterproof case). As for a towel...you don't need one! You will be in the water the entire time. A shuttle drives you to the river (shuttle is actually a big yellow old school school bus...smells like one too!), where you choose your tube (blue is smaller than red), grab some frisbees (which you will need to paddle with and not to play), and ropes to tie your tubes together to stay in a group, and you are let loose on the river. You are encouraged to stay to your left in order to avoid the super strong current you will encounter if you don't. Water depth is completely different in every part of the river, and the river floor is filled with large slippery rocks, so be careful. Also, logs throughout the river as well, so be aware of the direction you are headed. This is NOT a place for diving, as you don't know what you will fall upon in that river...so please don't be the fool jumping from the bridge and possibly injuring yourself in the process (yes...I saw a few teenagers doing this, and felt sick to my stomach with the anxiety of watching them jump onto shallow water into rock and log filled river). The ride is super relaxing and it's about an hour and half of floating down the river until you reach the end and return your tube, and walk a short distance back to your car. Plenty of small beaches to stop at if you so choose to along the way. Lots of cool people on the river to chit chat with who are kayaking, paddle boarding, or floating along with you. Pretty pricey, but it was worth it!
