Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite for one night. The room is really well appointed; sitting area with couch tv and nice stand with some reading. Room and bathroom were also well done with good products in the bathroom. Highlights were the bar downstairs - bar man on evening of feb6 was great, the fireside room to unwind in and Location. Overall good stay and would come back.

We wanted a comfortable, centrally located hotel to stay at for a romantic get away and the Sorrento fit the bill. It is easy walking distance from downtown and the waterfront, and if you don't want to go that far it has a nice cafe and dinning room. We liked the older style lobby and rooms.

I feel lucky to stay at the Sorrento when I come to Seattle. The staff are very accommodating and
the hotel has charm which newer hotels don't capture. Occasionally after a long day love to eat a grilled cheese sandwich and drink a lovely glass of red in the bar. The only negative - the rooms are too dark - they need to update their lighting.

I have stayed several times in the hotel, because it is convenient for the Harbourfront medical campus. The hotel trades on its heritage - menus from Thanksgiving in the 1920's, and floor mats for each day of the week in the elevator (which look like they date back to the old days). My biggest beef about the hotel is that it is not friendly to someone coming from the East Coast for meetings - no breakfast until 7am (although if you can wait until 7am, the breakfast is nice). If you like heavy dark wood panelling (and a cosy dark wood-panelled fireside room), then this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: The hotel has some suites with character and atmosphere - there are a couple of penthouse suites (but not cheap)

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We’re glad you find our location convenient, and that you enjoy our cozy Fireside Room. We’re sorry you do not feel that the timing of our breakfast is convenient though, and I will pass your comments onto our food and beverage management. We hope to welcome you back the next time you are in Seattle!

This was my second stay here. Let's start with the things that I love about this place first. ThIs is a vintage, dark word paneled old world style hotel. The doors to the elevator are brass, the lounge is a gorgeous room with a fireplace and big old chairs to relax in. The staff are all top notch, attentive, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is nicely located to reach most things in Seattle very conveniently, too. Water pressure and temperature are awesome. The breakfast menu is limited but the food is excellently prepared, served in a slightly run down but still classy dining room. There is free wifi, you get robes, and they have prompt, responsive room service too.

The hotel also has several weaknesses. The hotel's age shows. There are no convenient outlets next to the bed, so there is no way to charge your phone while also having it bedside as an alarm clock or even to make a call. They need to get those bedside lamps with built in outlets other hotels have.
The rooms are fairly dark, due to small windows. In our suite 215 the rooms were good-sized, yet the coffee table was so large that there was no place to keep it out of the way when we needed to use the sleeper sofa without blocking the doors to the bedroom. A smaller table would have been much more appropriate to the space.
The elevator is very small, and on busy days it is often jammed with people. The hallways are very narrow, making passing by the cleaning carts a bit of an obstacle course event.
The bathrooms are totally marble tile and very beautiful, but very small with no real convenient space for more than a few toiletries. Our bathroom had a small stand added for more space, but it blocked the door from opening all the way and hitting it with the mirrored door often knocked things to the floor, which was frustrating (see photo). The bathroom was also not heated in any way. We stayed here in winter, and the bathroom (which has a window for ventilation) was always cold.

I love staying here for the atmosphere, the staff, and the location but staying here IS taking a trip back in time, in every way good and bad. Know what you are getting when you check in, and you will enjoy your stay. Recommended.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property, Erik. We are so glad that you found our staff top notch and friendly, and that you found our location convenient! Also, we appreciate for your candid feedback. While we love the charm of our historic hotel, it does come with its quirks, as you noted. We have taken into account your comments about the outlets; please know we are working to remedy this situation! Also, we are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced with the marble bathrooms – they can be cold when it is especially cold outside. Please let us know if this is the case the next time you are visiting, and we are happy to provide a space heater to warm it up! We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
