We were 6 adults and 3 small children that spent 1 week in sept/ oct in Villa Tihana in Kanica. The weather was perfect and we could simply stroll between the heated pool and the sea. The situation of the house is perfect but you need a car. The house itself is immaculate - the pictures don't lie. This is simply a gem! We also want to mention the owners Marin Zizic and his wife. Made their utmost to make this holiday of ours pleasant. From the first contact to the delivery of keys in the house the information was given quickly and was accurate. We can really recommend this place. The only little drawback is the grocery shops nearby. Tommy in Marina is the best but for better shopping maybe go to Kaufland outside the airport in Split . There is a vegetable market not far from Tommy in Marina.
The last narrow road towards Kanica with stonefences on both sides can be challenging but there are plenty of meeting points so don't despair.

Fabulous villa and it was everything we hoped for. I would probably go so far as to say its the best villa we have ever stayed in although we thought the local supermarkets were a bit limited which was a disappointment for us as we are foodies!
The villa is tastefully decorated, great air con in every bedroom, comfortable beds, the pool was a big hit with the kids and the sea views are to die for. Everything about this villa is exactly as the photo's and detail say on the web. It was great to be able to walk down the steps and immediately onto the beach although we loved the pool best.
There are 4 good sized double bedrooms (3 with en suite). One of the bedrooms is not connected to the main part of the house - it is on the ground floor by the pool so this maybe an issue for 2 families sharing as you wouldn't want children on this level by the pool if they are young or if you are concerned about them being away from you. For us, this was perfect as my mother had her own separate annex and loved it that way! There is an en suite in this bedroom. It felt very safe although we did lock that bedroom door at night, you never know.....
The area is safe and quiet and only a handful of properties around. The owners are lovely and very helpful. They were there to greet us on arrival with drinks. We had a minor issue with the fridge and the owner couldn't have done more to resolve if he tried - as they only live a few miles away, they can be on hand if there are issues but other than this, they leave you to your own devices.
The road leading up to the villa is pretty tight and hair raising and not for the feint hearted! You definitely need a car to stay here although there is a bread, veg and fish man that honks his horn at 8am each morning outside the villa but we thought the choice was limited. Best supermarket we found was Tommy at Marina.
Overall, a great holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Croatia is a very beautiful country.

We went here on our family holiday (including four children). We were met by the owners at the villa with welcome good and a bottle of wine :-) the villa is very clean, has all home comforts with a good pool right on the seafront. Well located to travel round and explore. Several very good restaurants located within a 10 minute drive. Would highly recommend

It was the situation of this villa right on the waters edge that attracted us to book Villa Tihana and when you arrive for your stay you will not be disappointed.
The main feature of this modern property is the swimming pool with a lovely cabana and the Adriatic Sea just a metre or two from the property. There is also a bathing platform with sun loungers at the waters edge.
The Villa Tihana descriptive on this site is accurate as are the photos.
The bedrooms are comfortable three of which are on the main floor and the fourth on the swimming pool terrace which is independent from the main building. The kitchen/ lounge are more than adequate and there is good internet access and an outside dining area on the upper terrace. There no bars or restaurants in walking distance but this does mean the area is very quiet ( we were here in Sept) which suited us well. With the terraces and views any restaurant would be hard pushed to beat this for location.
Marin, the owner was most helpful from our initial enquiry through to meeting us at the Villa Tihana and over our two weeks visited occasionally to check the pool for maintenance and ensure all was satisfactory for us within the Vila. He has been the most helpful host including securing a mooring for our hire boat in the bay outside the villa.
I notice that next year (2015) he has manly repeat bookings, I am not surprised as this villa is truly gem in the Adriatic.
