I cannot recommend Chalet Olympic and Filzmoos highly enough, perhaps if I say that two days after we got home we booked to go back that says enough. The chalet is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice, Daniela the housekeeper is really helpful and there is so much to do. We hired bikes in Filzmoos, there are loads of trails to try and the sports shops are very helpful with route suggestions. The less keen cyclists can hire e-bikes which means everyone can join in. I also recommend the swimming lake at Ramsau and visits to Berchtesgarten and Hallestadt. Pizza Pinocchio is great either for meals in the restaurant or takeaway, they deliver and are super-efficient. There is a festival in the town square each Friday with all sorts of music, food, beer and dancing, whip-cracking really is a thing and its pretty impressive. I also recommend the masseuse Maria Magdalena Ledl whose contact details are in the house. Brilliant way to ease sore hiking muscles. The Happy Filzmoos hotel does great coffee and cake and they do a fabulous fondue. The scenery and people are fabulous, Austria is so worth a visit.
Huge accommodation, easily big enough for our 2 families. Great outdoor space, we ate outside nearly every day, used BBQ and ouside fire...lovely. Garden with sun loungers and plenty of space. Inside all bedrooms spacious and comfortable, 2 with boutique hotel style en suite. Large living area with loads of seating. Location good for visits to Werfen and Saltzburg. Filzmoos is 10 mins in the car and is lovely, recommend pizza from Pinnochio and the Friday evening marching band... whip crackers are great. Swimming lake in Ramsau is definitely worth a visit, thanks for top tip from Conny the housekeeper
