Very good contact with the owner, modern furnished, warm house with full equipment. Easy accommodation and departure. The house is located in a quiet place. There are 3 ski lifts close by (about 5 minutes by car) and a market. Many more lifts are located a bit further. Wheel chains may be needed. A family-friendly home.
We have visited Filzmoos on several occasions and always choose to stay here, whether with friends, family or just as a couple. The walk up from the village is quite challenging but there is a regular bus service so it isn't a problem. The effort is well rewarded by the stunning views from the chalet, as well as burning off some of the apres-ski calories!
The chalet itself is extremely well equipped and I can't think of anything that could be added. The decor is very tasteful and we loved the addition of the dining area leading straight from the kitchen - makes the compact kitchen area feel more open and accessible. We were lucky enough to be shown the recently refurbished Chalet 2. Wow! It is beautiful and light - might have to stay in that one next time!
We love the relaxed and family friendly vibe in Filzmoos - perfect for novice skiers but with more challenging skiing in nearby resorts if needed. All the restaurants we have visited have been very good and we especially like the Jaghdof for the quality of food and excellent service. Maybe one day we will get to the Hubertus to sample Johanna Maier's Michelin cuisine!
Booking has always been straightforward and Deborah and Paul make the whole process so easy. If they happen to be there during your stay you will benefit greatly from their friendly but unobtrusive presence. We can't wait to return and will be booking again for next year with the whole family!
Deborah was so helpful and the chalet was amazing! Comfortable and having the deck was perfect. We were a big family with small kids and it worked out perfectly for us.
It was a little bit of a hike up from the village, so we were glad we had a van. We had a great two weeks of hiking and enjoying the beautiful nature and good food. On rainy days it was easy to drive to Salzburg. I hope we can come back.
Chalet Ebner 3 has everything you could ask for - Great views, comfortable bedrooms, good size dining area and cozy living room with large screen for film nights. The skiing in Filzmoos is not huge but what there is is both varied and as scenic as you will find. The pass covers the whole Sku Amade, so boredom shouldn't be an issue with a car. We finished by taking our children on the horse drawn sleigh ride for dinner. The ride takes nearly an hour each way into the mountains and I'd highly recommend it. An excellent week in a first rate property that doesn't disappoint.
Our stay in Haus Ebner Chalet 3 was great! My husband and I and another couple stayed two nights here in early September. The town is quaint and beautiful - everything we expected in an Austrian ski village. The property is well-maintained and comfortable. A nice little welcome basket was awaiting us on arrival. Views from the deck are gorgeous. This property is on a quite street with very little foot/vehicle traffic. Unfortunately we had a good deal of rain during our stay so were not able to enjoy the outside space as much as we had hoped. Our only "negative" was that the shower stalls are very small, but we found this to be typical in other places we stayed in Austria and Germany - just be aware that larger individuals may have some difficulty. Also - Europeans evidently do not use washcloths. Again, just a note for people who are expecting the same linens typically found in US rentals. All in all we had a fantastic time in Filzmoos and would definitely return to this area and this vacation rental in particular. Thanks to Deborah for allowing us to experience your lovely property!
