Wife had shrimp and grits and loved it. I had the gumbo - very good. We also split the fried green tomato which was really good with some salt and pepper to taste.

lastly, I did the seafood combo and loved the jambalaya more then the the shrimp creole but everything was really good.

Would go back and obviously recommend.

Found this place by accident and was one of the best meals for the trip. The blackened catfish was outstanding, good prices and huge portions.

We had red fish and it was fantastic. It was also the first time we had chargrilled oysters and they were marvelous.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Mr. Ed's for casual New Orleans style food. It was wonderful! We first started with charbroiled oysters with garlic and butter. So amazing!!! (I don't like raw oysters, but the charbroiled was so worth getting!) We also had the sampler of jumbalaya, crawfish ettoufe, shrimp Creole and red beans and rice. Each one was delicious and so different than each other - the flavors came through! We barely had room for dessert, but had to try the bread pudding. So wonderful! So glad we went!

This place is really good for sea food if you go at the right time of year.we were there late March, so at the start of crawfish season. There was no wait to be seated and it was full of families of different ages. The waitress seemed a little but rude and only took the drink orders for 2/3 of the drink orders. I had fried aligator, but the winning dish was the bag of crawfish. It was nicely seasoned with herbs and lemons.
