Hotel lost in the countryside, by the ricefields. Very nice if you want to have a tipical balinese experience. The swimming pool is 100m away just by the ricefields. Very quiet ar night except for roosters.

After our long flight from L.A. it was beautiful to relax in thie wonderful green peaceful place. The people were so nice to serve us our dinner in the patio in front of our bedroom so that we did not have to move. Wonderful

It will be difficult to convey in words just what an amazing experience Puri Taman Sari is. Suffice to say, I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for an experience not found in most standard tourist areas of Bali. From the arranged transfer from our Kuta hotel to the drop off at our next destination this was a visit to remember. We stayed 2 nights but wish it had been more.

I could tell from the traditional Balinese dress of our initial driver (name I do not know, apologies) that this would be something different, special, and I was not disappointed. Although a quiet journey to the hotel (not a talkative driver) we felt at ease and were warmly welcomed and given a brief rundown of the facilities and shown to our room.

We stayed in room 06, which is located in the main compound with a window looking out into the reception area. The simple but beautiful interior is made moreso by the thatched roofing, which also gives a more spacious feel. The outdoor bathroom is a standout, I want one! Showering in the warm air surrounded by flowers, greenery and blue sky is an experience I highly recommend. Only thing we missed when comparing to standard hotels is a minibar / fridge but this is a minor point and we certainly could manage without it. The mattress is a little hard, slightly softer may elevate the comfort further as we were a little stiff upon waking the second day. If you are a light sleeper keep in mind this is a natural environment so there are roosters, dogs, lizards, insects and birds all making their natural noises. I loved this aspect but ear plugs may be advisable for others.

Being immersed within the village and exploring the stunning surrounds whilst witnessing day to day village life was a great experience. From the lady running the village shop who managed to sell us Bintang despite not knowing any English, the women handwashing their clothes in the running streams to the people working the rice paddies and collecting coconuts.

Food was simple, fresh and flavoursome. I recommend the Royal set menu which offers the opportunity to sample a number of Balinese dishes. We enjoyed all our meals, and never went hungry. Breakfast was included in our Groupon deal so we had limited choice but we did like what was presented (banana pancake and omelette). The local wine was very good, and reasonably priced also. As you are relatively isolated here it is nice that they are not taking advantage of this by charging extortionate prices, I found everything to be priced reasonably.

The hotel arranged a tour driver who took us out for one afternoon to nearby Taman Ayan Temple, Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest and to enjoy sunset at Tanah Lot.

There is a spa onsite but we did not have time to make use of it.

There are two pools in the village, only one of which we could find. Not that it mattered as the one we found was stunning, an infinity pool overlooking rice paddies. This private pool is close to the individual suites also available to stay in that look lovely also.

All staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome at all times, thank you for helping to ensure we had a memorable stay and we hope to visit again one day.

We arrive late in the evening, and the employees of the hotel were so prevenant with us.
The room was really beautiful, with the view on the swimming pool and the rice fields.
Good restaurant with fresh balinese food.
The semi-exterior bathroom is surprising when you take your first shower, but really funny and great !!!
Only thing not so good : around the hotel, there's some rubish on the road...
Really good place to stay at Tabanan !!!
