Comfortable stay, Great location and friendly service
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 9 Sept 2018
I enjoyed my first stay with the hotel however my second stay of 5 nights was not as great when compared. The location of the hotel is fantastic, with shops and art markets nearby and the beach is about 100m away. The location is pretty safe even to stroll at night and there is also a laundry place nearby. The room this time round was disappointing as the television channels hangs frequently, I had to call for help more than twice and the third time, no help came. The floor felt sandy even after housekeeping and no face towels were provided during my entire stay. I initially thought they do not provide other towels other than bath towels due to some environmentally friendly motion, however I came to realize that they do still provide. Though the room was quire a disappointment, I was delighted by the friendly and responsive service I received throughout the hotel. I must mention that the Pool Guy (Kris) made me feel welcomed and at home. His smiles were contagious and was quick to satisfy our enquiries. He took the effort to chit chat with most of the guest in the pool area and could address us by name, remembered our preferences and made us feel welcomed. His enthusiastic and professional service rendered is commendable and made our stay enjoyable, knowing that there are reliable and friendly people around us even when we decide to stay within the hotel grounds.

We stayed here recently, 6 of us in total. We were travelling with three kids and their father and asked for joining rooms when we booked around 2 months prior. When we got there check in took at least 30 minutes, the kids fell asleep in the lobby and they were unable to find two rooms together but we were too tired to argue. When we got to our room we had a joining room to the kids with a double bed and their father was right down the hall way. Initially the hotel looked nicer online, the rooms were smaller and getting ready for a brush up but it was nicer than a few places i had stayed in Bali. The breakfast options were pretty big but exactly the same every day and with the hotel being so busy it was a nightmare. We were here as the earthquake hit and we were staying on the top floor. The reaction time from the staff was pretty prompt, they knocked on all the doors and had us evacuated to the ground. As we were evacuating he hotel had been damaged by the quake, there were cracks the whole way down the staircase and cracked paint all over the floor. The glass surrounding the floating pool had shattered too. We got another warning for following after shocks and a tsunami as we were on the ground floor. The kids we were travelling with had never left Australia and it was a terrifying experience for them. Then staff stopped speaking English and refused to answer ant of our questions. Eventually they just moved away and let everyone back into their rooms without trying to reassure anyone. When the second earthquake hit it was a lot smaller but still very noticeable. I called down to the reception and they told me that I was making it up and there hadn't been another one, my partner had to go downstairs with the earthquake warning for them to take any notice of what we were saying and by then multiple other guests were standing in the lobby waiting for further instructions. Another issue we had was with our laundry, we gave them a whole back of laundry and they informed us it would be done by the end of the day. When I asked them where our laundry was as it was well after they time they had initially told us they said it was going to cost more than $50 so they didn't wash it. I got pretty mad and they said they had tried to call the room, I pointed out to them that I wasn't in Bali to sit in a hotel room and if they weren't washing my clothes why hadn't they returned them. Eventually my boyfriend had to have a word with them and they washed it. We expected more from such a well known hotel chain. Apart from that the coffee was the best we'd had in Bali.

We booked earlier in the year and paid around £37 a night. Booked for 4 nights.

The hotel was around 10 minutes walk from the beach. We found most of the things we wanted to do we’re in Seminyak so got a lot of taxis. Prices ranged from 50-70k rupiah. Later found out about an app called Grab which is like Uber. You save a lot of money.

We had a superior room on the 3rd floor which was clean and modern. It was cleaned daily. House keeping were hit and miss with towels and bath mats. We requested an iron which was quickly delivered. There was no balcony which was disappointing but not the end of the world.

We didn’t have the breakfast option but I had a look and it was comprehensive so worth including for the right price. Theres a nice coffee place over the road that does nice coffee/smoothies/shakes/breakfast for a good price so we ate there when we wanted to eat or have a coffee. Also Circle K seemed to be the cheapest minimart around if you want to save a few quid.

The pool isn’t as grand looking as the hotel
Pictures. It’s on a main road and opposite an ugly building and not a great number of sun beds but we always managed to get one when we used the pool.

Regarding noise even though in a busy area we didn’t hear any noise from outside or from out neighbours in the hotel. We also played music and no complaints made to us to assume the walls we well sound proofed.

Staff friendly and helpful throughout. We checked out at 12 when our car to Ubud picked us up. If you shop around you can get for 250-300k. Overall for the price we paid we got a clean/comfortable/modern hotel for a great price. I couldn’t fault the hotel other than not the best location for us.

The hotel is in a great location BUT the pools are small for amount of guests & not enough seating around them.
The room we booked, a superior king, was very small so we upgraded to a balcony room. That room was more spacious. The bar fridge should be called an oven!!! The staff are polite & the breakfast ok. Overall we wouldn’t stay here again mainly because we like to sit by the pool but there just wasn’t enough seating.
