First of all, the good stuff, because I am not heartless. The room and bathroom are decent size, high ceilings, very comfy and clean. But. There was a wedding this weekend here, so the coffee bar/restaurant was closed for the morning… there is no nearby alternative. Then we tried to check into our room a little early. “The wedding… cleaning all the rooms right now… putting you into one of the rooms that is ready right now would be a downgrade….,” said the clerk. When I said we would take it, the manager said that no, it would be an upgrade and she could not give it to us. I said surely one room could be cleaned in the next half hour. “No, you have to wait 2 hours until all the rooms are ready.” So we went to a friend’s to nap in their bed. Retuned after dinner. Went to bed on the 4th floor. Well, tried. Pounding music, like a boom box from a passing car, shook the room. Bass pounding the walls. We called the front desk. “It will stop at 11:00.” Gee, thanks. I saw a man sitting on the floor cradling his head this morning, and I know exactly how he felt.
