We visited on the same day as Smorgasburg was on (which is great) but the Flea is pretty lame. Only and handful of stalls selling mostly trash at stupid prices. 3rd hand half broken playmobil characters for $5 and old bottle tops. Who buys this crap?

Don’t bother.

Note the Brooklyn Flea is at different locations, Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday location in the patio of a hotel on Kent/Wythe streets. The patio is relatively small for a flea market. The vendors have good crafts and lots of old.new jewelry. But still a small flea market relative to the distance you may need to travel to get there. Access to hotel restrooms is allowed.

So we've been their... but really I Expected bigger place... the Vinyl sailor is probably the best place within the Flea Market. I recommend it for a coffee. then you can walk near the Hudson River or.... Go to Shelter Pizza for a brunch... which we did. this is an amazing place.

We have been going to the Brooklyn Flea for many years. It has changed locations multiple times. It has had modest digs and grand digs (the old bank building was magnificent).

The vendors at the market are quite varied. Original designers of clothing and jewelry, vintage toys and clothes, bric a brac, furniture, food, vinyl, the full gambit. A lot of the dealers have been doing this a long time. They know their stuff.

Our unscientific observation is that prices have been creeping up each year. Something you see and you believe it is worth $50 is now priced at $75. I don't blame the dealers. It is what the market will bear.

And again, I don't want to dump on hipsters and well off tourists from Asia but they seem willing to pay these prices. We have bought a lot at this market over the years. I really like it. But maybe, just maybe their prime years are behind.

Went there on a very windy Sunday afternoon and I think some vendors might have called it a day early because of that, because there were about 20-30 vendors.
Necklaces (said to be dating back to even 1860) around $ 120, (Nice, but still second hand jackets around 100) Sunglasses 50 and up, tees 10
