We were visiting the Downtown Historic District in Savannah Ga. After a long day it was time to decide where to have dinner . We were looking through the hotel pamphlets and saw Paula’s Restaurant of course her advertisements sounded so good that it made us hungry for Good home cook meal. Well we walked their from our hotel only to be confused with the menu and the staff really can’t explain it in a simple way. Bottom line is it’s $24.99 per person so for 2 of us it was $50 but drinks are separate charged. Chicken came and it wasn’t golden brown as described it was border line dark almost burnt. juicy and moist was not the case dry and hard to swallow . I took 2 bites and this is the breast and had to throw back with my ice tea.Pot roast was dried out as well and tasteless more like salt. Cat Fish oh how did they get this wrong almost burnt same color as the chicken more breading / pinko than fish very Dry. However on a positive they got the collards and sesame salad right .The cobbler was very disappointing and banana pudding was not home made. Someone has dropped the ball on food quality control . This restaurants is keeping precooked food on a hot line in the kitchen under heat lamps and not changing the oil as often as you should. It screams nothing nor home cook meal. Needless to say we didn’t eat much of it. and wasted $60.00 plus for garbage. I do not recommend this Restaurant location at all .Paula and Sons take a look at your reviews and see what is the constant. Make a change if you care. DO NOT GO THERE. With the chefs / managers/ cooks attitude the next step is Dirty Dining.
