Very helpful front desk, but only one elevator for a while

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Oct 2024via mobile
The positive: the front desk. In particular Nezha Laikih was very helpful and supportive: highly appreciated. I had a wonderful and spacious room on the 19th floor with a great view and comfort. Very close to the U Penn campus, where I needed to be. The negative: only one elevator worked in getting guests to their rooms. This created longer waits and crowded rides, and was quite unusual. It lasted for two days, but they fixed it eventually: so I should not hold it against them.

The hotel is ok, but what made it great was Jonathan at the front desk. He was so polite, kind and willing to help that I even overlooked the fact that the hotel has its problems. I wish that at every hotel I has a Jonathan because it would be a better experience if we did.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Jonathan at the front desk was extremely courteous and thoughtful. Everybody else in the front desk and the executive lounge were equally helpful. The location is really convenient for Univ of Pennsylvania.

I’m highly recommend this hotel for you and your family to stay. I always stay at this hotel since my daughter is a junior student in UPenn. The hotel staffs are very friendly and professional. Especially, the receptionist, Jonathan who is so helpful and knowledgeable. He is not only providing an excellent service, he is also giving us advice about dining, sightseeing and other activities. I was very impressed with his service and the quality of the hotel. I really appreciate his hospitality and service. Thank you, Jonathan! Lucy

I came to the hotel after two weeks in hospital with a broken pelvis. My wife had already been staying in the hotel and was very well looked after while I was recovering post surgery. I joined her at Sheraton University hotel on September 27th. Everyone has been very kind and most helpful and I would like to mention the following staff for special praise,
Yesenie our house keeper,
Teresa, Jackie and Margaret from the breakfast club
Nezha, Johnathan, Jones, Chris and TY from reception and the front desk
Indeed everyone was helpful particularly in consideration of my injury.
Best wishes to you all and hope we will see you again one day.

Our stay at the Sheraton University City hotel was unexpected as it followed my husband’s cycling accident, broken hip and two weeks at Pen Presbyterian hospital. We came from the UK on cycling holidays with American friends.

I can’t thank enough for all the kind help and support we received from all the hotel staff starting with the front line desk naming Johnathan, Jones, Nezha and Ty always kindly enquiring about my husband’s welfare and offering their support.

I am especially grateful to the Operational Manager, Chris who was extremely helpful and sympathetic and offered the most suitable room on my husband’s discharge from hospital which met his post surgery needs. He also kindly liaised with our insurance company.

The lovely breakfast team Teresa, Jackie and Margaret were always welcoming, friendly and ready to help making our stay enjoyable.

The room was always clean and well attended by our friendly and efficient Yesenie.

Considering the unfortunate circumstances of our stay due to my husband’s accident I couldn’t have asked for better support and caring attitude from the hotel staff. These made our stay a wonderful and memorable experience, which I am sure has contributed to my husband’s positive recovery, and for which I am forever grateful.
