What I expected from a Marriott

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 Oct 2024via mobile
Nice room. Spacious and clean. We had our teenager son so a junior suit was the best option as it has a living room with a comfortable sofa bed. Location for sightseeing is great. About 10-15 mins walking from the main downtown attractions. It is a huge hotel inside a convention center so be aware if this is not your thing.

Miserable experience. Was in ambassador suite. Phone didn’t work. Neighbors in connecting room noisy. Front desk said no rooms available to change yet Marriott Bonvoy website shows several available. I don’t like being lied to. Not up to Marriott standards. Thankfully only here for two nights.

Room tip: Avoid room 728

My hotel stay was really a mixed experience.
I arrived post red eye flight and they checked in me in very early so that was appreciated.
My room had no hot water in the shower and I reported it multiple times.
The manager attributed it to a crowded hotel, but my bathroom sink had super hot water.
After threating to request 2 nights comped room, they finally repaired the shower adjuster. While the repair worked the shower leaked even when it was off.
Room temperature in the room was hard to adjust as well, and many people had issues with their A/C in their rooms.
Windows do not open at all so you are stuck with the room temp.

The pool is in the middle of the building, so is indoors with no real air circulation.

The lobby snack bar was pretty good with great iced coffee. Good selection.

Finally, the gym was decent but had 3 broken Peloton bikes and 3 broken stair climbers. I reported it to the management on the 1st day and 5 days later the equipment was all still broken.

I think for the price you can def find better places to stay in that same neighborhood aka Loews.

Room tip: The Club Lounge is very basic and certainly below the standards of other M Lounge Marriotts. Def not worth the price if you are paying for i

Dear Passenger62906619004,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re pleased to hear you appreciated the early check-in after your flight and enjoyed our lobby snack bar and iced coffee selection. However, we’re truly sorry for the inconveniences you faced during your stay. We apologize for the issues with the shower and room temperature adjustment; these are certainly not the standards we strive to maintain. We understand the frustration of reporting an issue multiple times and regret that it took longer than expected to resolve the shower. Additionally, we’re actively looking into the building’s A/C system to address the challenges several guests have noted and will explore better ventilation options. Your comments about the gym equipment have been brought to our maintenance team, and we will ensure that all equipment issues are addressed swiftly. Thank you for alerting us; guest feedback is critical in helping us improve. Thank you for choosing the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown!

Upon first impression this is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Cleanliness is above average. The problem is that the walls and doors are paper thin. We had an incident where the guests in the room next door were loud and obnoxious and we had to contact the front desk 3 times to send security up to ask them to be quiet. On the 3rd visit the male became angry and even louder and started threatening to “punch the walls”. We asked the front desk to change their room but they informed us that WE were the ones that had to move so we had to pack up our belongings and head down to the check in desk to get new keys. Mind you this was at 1 am. We had to wait on a line at that time as well. I definitely would not stay here again.

out a doubt, one of the worst hotels I've ever been to in the United States. The FedEx lady is extremely rude and ill-mannered. Today a package was supposed to arrive for me, but no one at the hotel found it. No one cared, they gave me zero assistance. The breakfast is expensive and terrible, but the rudeness of the staff who receives the packages, especially from FedEx, really shows how prejudiced they are towards some customers who are not American. Merriot, what a shame this hotel is.

Room tip: Never ask for anything to be delivered to this hotel, the Fedex staff are stupid

Location! Location! Location! This hotel is located in the best spot in Philadelphia downtown! We came to celebrate a family event and found it to be one of the greatest spot to go. It’s located near all the attractions of Liberty Bell and the hotel team are one a kind! It started with Howard at the lounge going to all the people at the from front desk and the best are at the restaurant where the manager (forgive me for forgetting her name) was so happy to host us! The lady kept on coming and making sure all is great! The hotel manager himself is all around looking and greeting each guest! Thank you Mr GM! Thanks to the restaurant superb team and to the front desk! They all deserve a big big thank you!
Yes, we will be back!
My only regret was that at the weekend they close the lounge even on Friday evening and one has to look for food option other than breakfast that is being served at the restaurant. I was expecting to get food (afternoon odert’s) even on Friday evening .
