Our family of 10 enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. We were 6 adults, 3 young children 3 years old -7 and one teenager. Even though it rained every day there was plenty of amenities at the house and the gated community for everyone to keep busy and have fun. We especially enjoyed the property the house is on. The children and adults enjoyed playing in the creek. We discovered frogs, turtles, built fairy houses and launched some boats we made rain or shine. The pros: Nicely equipped kitchen, cleaning supplies available, washer and dryer, beautiful deck, great fire pit and best of all lindens supplied. The cons: additional weekly charge of $20 per person to use the community amenities, all the bathrooms are shared, the two bedrooms downstairs have no shower in their bathroom, master bedroom is on the first floor next to front door and kitchen, no comfortable chairs on deck. Yes we would vacation here again.
Our extended family was able to stay comfortably and enjoy our time together. We ate meals together and the owners have so many amenities at the home for families to enjoy. We would certainly stay again. Impeccable!
The house was spacious, warm and comfortable. Children had loads of fun playing pool and ping pong in the downstairs area, and snow tubing down the hill next to the house. The indoor pool was a big hit also. The adults had plenty of privacy when they wanted it and we had plenty of space to all gather around the fireplace and play yahtzee! Everyone wants to go back next year. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home.
The home was spacious, clean and cozy. We spent a week to celebrate my dad's 80th and had about 6 people around most times. If it wasn't for the loud boiler/grinder(?), I'd give it 5 stars--I'm a light sleeper and the basement bedroom where I slept got the brunt of the boiler room's periodic motor. Really deserves 4.5 stars...
My family had a great relaxing time--it's the wonderful home away from home that exceeds our own spaces. We hiked Bushkill Falls, Mt. Tammany Red Dot Trail, George W. Childs Park, and the Appalachian trail. It's been a warm fall, so even into November the foliage didn't fully turn, but it was lovely to walk it. My dad enjoyed the outdoor tennis courts. Since the outdoor pools were closed, my cousins checked out the indoor pool with hot tub that's within walking distance which required $5 daily passes.
We cooked most meals and even enjoyed the outside grill. (Just wished there was a cast iron skillet to properly make frittatas in the oven.) We did also celebrate a birthday meal at Garlic, which was well worth the trip.
Brian, the owner, was super responsive and helpful. They have the rental set up for easy entry and enjoyment. My miniature poodle, Pickles, also absolutely loved the stay--two paws up!
Things to note: Price Chopper supermarket is about 20 minutes away if you need supplies; bring your own soap and toiletries (I did bequeath some shampoo and conditioner); this is an old quaint home so the bath and shower are tight spaces; you'll need your netflix/amazon/hulu account to sign into tvs if you don't want to watch cable or their large DVD collection; it's a gated community and they check driver's id; you have to drive your garbage to the community compactor and there's no recycling.
I would definitely want to come to hang out and be with family here again--very relaxing and chill in great Poconos location.
