2 night stay

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 18 Nov 2020
I stayed here for 2 nights for a conference. It appears that the lobby was undergoing major construction and the front desk was a fold out table. My room was on the 19th floor. I upgraded to a room with a view. The view ended up being a tiny window (but I guess its better than no view). The elevator was really old and scared me a little. It was tiny and slow to open.
On a good note- I loved the smell of the toiletries. Please don't change those! The bartender was very friendly and made a good drink. The location was fantastic.
I would stay here again. Hopefully by next time construction will be done and hopefully some updating as well.

I've been surprised to read the recent less than complimentary reviews of this hotel and can only say it must have gone downhill since my visit as I recall it as quite grand with a very nice room. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. My main issue was that the duvets do not have covers, just a sheet which is folded over them which I feel is not hygienic. If I had been with my partner he would have been tangled up in the sheet in no time and sleeping under the actual duvet which I don't feel is acceptable. I also had problems with wifi.
I happened to be at the hotel on the night of 9/11 and I was on the 25th floor. I was on my own and somewhat scared to hear a terrible rumbling noise vibrating in my room. I was just preparing to flee the room when I worked out that my room was situated behind three elevators and what I could hear was the elevators going up and down. This noise continued at all hours although I got used to it. For good measure I also had the ice machine outside my room! Luckily I am able to sleep through most things.
The view from the room was impressive, one plus of being on a higher floor.
The first morning I had breakfast at the hotel which was really nice but incredibly expensive, so after that I went to a nearby cafe.
Although the hotel did have some down points I did feel overall that I was happy and it is certainly really well situated for getting out and about in the city. It's quite possible to walk to many places of interest, including Times Square.

Visited NYC for one night. The location is the only real asset. Rooms are very small, the thermostat could not be controlled. This property was somewhat rundown (although not horrific) and
average service. It would be a fine budget hotel at under $100 a night, but not a Marriott, in the largest US city at $300+ a night.

I checked in at 2am and got to room. I noticed a partially unmade bed where fitted sheet barely covered any part of the mattress. Then worst was the dirty sheet. I’m exhausted and going to sleep on a towel but will not stay here again.

I’m sorry - but any hotel that doesn’t have room service shouldn’t qualify to call itself anything above a Courtyard. The description on Marriott’s site is deceptive, I believe intentionally, to hide that fact.

If you would like a soda - and can cram yourself into a crowded closet they call a gift shop, have fun opening the cooler without knocking other “trinkets” they have for sale on the floor. Unlike most Marriotts, they don’t have many Pepsi products - no Mountain Dew.

The M club is a bunch of rude employees walking around not being helpful. If you want a soda you’re out of luck - they don’t stock them.

I won’t be back.

I also wonder if Marriott knows how unappealing this property really is - because it shouldn’t carry the Franchise name.

We are titanium Elite members of Marriott and I would like to start my review with that sentence just to iteirate the such is the big number of nights we book with mariott and hence we now qualify as titanium Elite members.

So that should explain our loyalty towards Marriott world wide.

Now, let's come over to the breakfast at lounge. The breakfast is complimentarynly for elite members.
This particular day, at the lounge where breakfast was served which was told upto 11am and I walk in at 10am to find the breads all empty.

I go upto "Mr.Jesus" the incharge that day at
the lounge and ask for bread and I get a very impolite rude reply.

Mr.Jesus thinks he's smart but amateur at his smirk that he is, he came across as rude, sarcastic, shrewd which certainly is not appreciated way to conduct yourself with any guests and specifically with elite members Mr.Jesus.

Looks like your crew and management need to send you to India to get you some skills on hospitality, you need to get your hand badly at that. Wish you good luck on that... However with reputation of the hotel entrusted on employee like you, guess your management needs the good luck more than you do!

Dear Archanasarrgur,

Thank you for sharing your review. We’re very grateful for your loyalty to Marriott and find it troubling to know you felt your stay with us didn’t live up to those standards, particularly with our breakfast service. I have shared your feedback with my team and thank you again for taking the time to share it in detail. We wish you the best in all your future travels.
