This hotel is in a great location at 49th and Lex. Great eating options nearby. The hotel itself is approach the time when it needs a re-fit. The building itself is historic (I believe Georgia O'Keefe once called the 32nd floor home)--but that doesn't mean that the hotel and its furnishings should be. My desk had seen better days, as had the furniture in the room generally. TV was large, but my window was quite small. In fact, I think the TV is larger than the window.
Despite being a lifetime Titanium BonVoy guy, my "upgraded" room was just large enough for a king bed and a desk. My AC was efficient, pumping out a consistent 68 degrees F all night, but it made an extremely noisy clunking while doing so. The bathroom is tight. While you'd do so anyway, you need to close the bathroom door to use the toilet or bathtub/shower. The is very little counter space. The king bed had a very discernible ridge right down the middle between the two foundations.
Lest this review sound too negative, my experience with the staff was excellent, as was my experience in the M Club with its ever-helpful hosts. Again, not intending to sound negative, but generally I'm not particularly fond of the M-Club movement among Marriott hotels such as this one, which essentially creates a Residence Inn-type dining hall experience--but exclusive to certain guests.
The gym is on the 35th floor, and requires an elevator transfer on 32. If you're working out during the busy morning or evening hours, get your pre-workout workout on the stairs up to the 35th floor rather than wait 10 minutes or more for the next elevator car.
