We barely lasted one night of our five night booking. The hotel is old, can't help that, but it is not clean. The banging all night was unacceptable. Either water pipes or A/C banged the entire night. Complained to the Front Desk at midnight and 1 am. Requested a room change and was ignored. By 5:30 am we had booked another hotel (Warwick which I highly recommend). Shower had mold/mildew. No refrigerator and no coffee make. One ice machine for the whole hotel - in the lobby. Neighborhood has degraded considerably. Management did reach out after we posted an internal review. They offered to "try" and refund our one night stay. There are too many hotels available in NYC to stay in an unsatisfactory one.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience at Hotel Belleclaire. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay and regret that we did not meet your expectations.

We are deeply sorry for the disturbance caused by the noise from either water pipes or the A/C system throughout the night. Your comfort is of utmost importance to us, and we apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We understand your frustration with the lack of response to your requests for a room change, and we regret any miscommunication on our part.

Furthermore, we apologize for the cleanliness issues you encountered in the shower and the inconvenience of not having a refrigerator or coffee maker in your room. We have taken note of your feedback regarding the ice machine location and will consider how we can improve access for our guests in the future.

Regarding the neighborhood, we understand that perceptions can vary, and we appreciate your honest assessment.

Good location, clean and tidy rooms. Amazing bakery for morning coffee and eats. Overall a great place to stay. AND Benedict is the best front desk person ever. He completely took care of a need we had. He and the others will exceed expectations....

Shanies, the front desk manager helped us and gave us excellent customer service! Beautiful luxurious hotel with outstanding customer service with a Fabulous location close to everything with wonderful restaurants.

We had another great stay at the Belleclaire. While many of the rooms are quite small, they are all extremely clean the hotel itself is sparkling. All the staff, from housekeeping to Shanies and Benedict at the front desk, are all so welcoming, accommodating and just really nice! We arrived early but were able to get into our room thanks to Shanies, which made our first day of the trip so much more enjoyable and relaxing. Mille Feuille right downstairs is an amazing extra! Definitely recommend this cozy and clean hotel for your next trip to NYC and the UWS.

Room tip: Rooms can be very small but all very clean. Walls are fairly thin.

Shanies rolled out the red carpet for my mom. It was her first time in NYC, and we were meeting close family. We needed a hotel adjacent to the Beacon Theatre. We were both nervous and exhausted having made a long trip on no sleep. Shanies worked with us on early check-in and the staff was kind to my mom throughout out her stay.

The rooms were clean, bright, and tasteful. The bathrooms were the best hotel bathrooms I’ve seen since St Regis and Esencia.

My partner and his coworkers were booked into Art House across the street. To contrast, AH staff avoided eye contact and generally looked unhappy. The rooms were damp and dark. The A/C would shake the entire room when it rumbled to life. The showers were little better than a gym shower.

I kept wanting to run over to my mom’s room at the Belleclaire to shower and nap. When in NYC next, we will definitely book here again.

We arrived to the Belleclaire in the evening with a last minute reservation after our flight was cancelled. We were warmly received by Jaelle and Jassva (apologies if I’m misspelling any of their names), which provided us with more than we could have expected at that time in the evening, after a very stressful day. We truly appreciated the hospitality and the hotel facilities!
