Wonderful hotel, we arrived to friendly and helpful receptionists, checked in quickly and easily. Our room was a standard size and had all the necessities. On asking where we were able to smoke, we were given a free upgrade to a bigger room with a balcony! Fantastic! The hotel is at the top end of Central Park, with the natural history museum literally around the corner. A Starbucks is also round the corner for your morning coffee. It took us about 40 minutes to walk to Times Square along the side of Central Park. Just a fabulous location and no negatives about the hotel.

They have a bar that opens about 1530 with a Mexican style restaurant, we didn’t eat here but had a few drinks. Brilliant stay, value for money, and excellent staff.

Room Tip: Best views on the 11th floor with a balcony, but they don’t advertise balconies!

Fast check-in, standard room is well equipped with one chair and desk. Bed was fairly comfy. Killer location, with a coffee shop around the corner for breakfasts, pizza and sandwich joints across Columbus Avenue. Pharmacy is a short walk away (Duane Reade), at Amsterdam/79th. Best of all? Location! Right across from the subway and bus for crosstown museums on Fifth, and the AMNH is across the street. Will return (this was already my 3rd stay here).

Couldn’t ask for a better stay in a great location. Visiting family on the upper west side and this was perfect. We have stayed here in the past but the hotel looked brighter and shinier than I remember. We had a beautiful suite on an upper floor with tons of light and space. This was giant by nyc standards. Also very quiet. Easy to walk to restaurants and stores. Staff very friendly. We will back.

We were staying on one of the higher floors which overlooked the West side of NY. It was right across the street from a large museum where you could park (otherwise you had to fend for yourself on the streets) and they gave a hefty discount for parking for hotel guests. The rooms are adorable! Very retro wtih beautifully tiled bathrooms and old sinks. Really nice. We had continental breakfast there as well which wasn't horrible but a bit pricey. There is a starbucks around the corner and its probably just easier to snag something there. There's also a bunch of restaurants and a pizza joint not too far too. Central park is literally a block away. Its close to the Met Opera (which is what we were there for) and not terribly far from downtown fun. The staff is excellent and helps with anything and everything you can think of.

Stayed in a twin room with a friend. The room and bathroom were spacious. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, a good shower. Staff were friendly. I would recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice location also, on the Upper West Side, subway just down the street
