Amazing budger stay in New York. Warm staff. Clean rooms. Superb breakfast. Connectivity a plus

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 6 Oct 2024via mobile
If you’re looking for a budget stay with access to subways and busy Manhattan streets, it’s your place to be at.

The hotel may be little weary but its courteous staff especially at night — Mohammed is extremely helpful.

They offer free spin at wheel to award you points as huge as 7,000. The free daily breakfast is a breeze. It has just about everything — fresh orange juice, fresh cheeses, bread basket, eggs.

It’s tucked into a corner with good gym and sitting area at night.

Some construction activity in neighbourhood is troublesome but doesn’t deter from a joyous stay.

Its manager Stephanie Vidal is helpful and lends ear to any problem by her guests.

For a small basic issue with electricity repair works outside my room that impaired my stay, they sent me 17,000 points.

It speaks volumes about their commitment to hospitality, perfection and brilliance.

They like to build mutual trust and loyalty.

Stay here if you want a quiet stay for affordable stay with cleanliness, superb hygiene and resolution.

I will recommend this hotel to every budget traveller.

Regards
Rohan Dua

You can’t judge a book by the cover. But that’s what I did when I booked this hotel based on the photos. The pictures in the listing on this site and Marriott’s site made it look really nice. In reality, it was average at best. I was told via the chat in the Marriott app that I had been upgraded to one of their biggest rooms, but what I actually got was more like a closet. Barely room to walk around the bed. The windows don’t do much to drown out the noise from the concerts at the pier nearby, even 20+ stories up. The free breakfast doesn’t remotely resemble the photos. It’s comical. Don’t expect sous vide egg bites and croissant sandwiches. On the plus side, all the staff members were great. Every person with whom I interacted, both in person and the chat, was very nice. The hotel staff made the stay enjoyable.

Reading the TripAdvisor reviews makes it seem like we stayed in a different hotel, as the hotel exceeded our expectations and we had a 5/5 experience for the reasonable price we paid.

I think we got a room upgrade from queen to a king bed. We booked a queen to have more space in the room but the king bed was fine. We managed to store our cases without tripping over them, we've had much smaller hotel rooms in Europe. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was big (by NY standards) and free breakfast was great. There were so many options we could have a different breakfast everyday. Convenient location to visit Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial and the ferry to Brooklyn. The subway was a 10 minute walk away, also plenty of restaurants in the area.

Breakfast room does get crowded, but you can always take food back to your room. Air conditioning vent is partially blocked by a wall unit so cold air does not circulate around the room well, this could be fixed if they swapped the wall unit to the other side of the desk. Shower was very slippery, needs a non-slip mat. There are no ceiling lights only lamps but that seems to be a North American thing.

The staff were wonderful. Other than that, the elevator was horrible. The room was tiny dirty carpeting meaning it was cleaned by the housekeeper but God knows what was on. It. Couldn't even move around each other. No view. Went around the corner to the AC. Fantastic

Room tip: Again, the staff was fabulous but go around the corner to the AC

The Room was very small. The Hallway was super hot.
Pillows were beyond firm. It was like sleeping on concrete. Slept horribly, couldn’t get comfortable with the pillows being so hard. They were so hard that I woke up with a numb ear from sleeping on that rock of a thing they called a pillow. If you want to actually sleep I would NOT recommend staying here.

Room tip: Being your own pillows
