Description: The Porterhouse Brewing Co. at Fraunces Tavern, is located in one of the city's most historic landmarks in the downtown Financial District. The Porterhouse offers a large range of small batch and specialty beers, serving traditional American food with a strong Irish influence. Fraunces Tavern has been a part of our city's history since 1762. Now under new management, you can expect a modern experience in an authentic historical space while enjoying great food, drinks, and atmosphere.

Have been here several times but didn’t remember to review. Came for lunch before meeting a colleague and had another yearning for a Reuben sandwich. Leann the bartender was great and looked after me pretty well.

Food was great and beer recommendation was spot on.

Food was top knotch. Obvious care taken in sourcing and prep. Alcohol selection is off the hook. Prices are high but not unusual for area. Service was the only glitch, it was not busy and service was lacking.

If you're looking to dine in the historic Fraunces Tavern, make sure you book it for the restaurant. We showed up at Fraunces on a Sunday evening. We're huge Hamilton fans, so we were excited to have dinner at Fraunces Tavern--where Washington gave his farewell speech to his troops. As we stood in the entryway waiting to be seated, we stared into the quiet dining room, thinking about all the history that occurred on this spot. When the hostess began to take us to our table, we were led on a short, winding trek to the other side of the building, away from the quiet, candle lit, historic dining room to a very loud bar area. I didn't realize it at the time, but we actually drank and dined in the Porterhouse Bar at Fraunces Tavern. So, really, it was a bit disappointing that we didn't actually get to dine in the historic Fraunces Tavern itself. But, that's totally on us. We didn't do our homework and didn't realize you apparently have to make a separate reservation to dine in the dining room itself.

With that said, the Porterhouse Bar was pretty good, aside from some cramped seating. The food was excellent and the beer list was quite impressive. So if you're looking for a pub/bar/restaurant, I would highly recommend the Porterhouse Bar section of Fraunces Tavern. If you're looking to dine in the historic Fraunces Tavern, I would suggest making a booking via their website.

They took the Beef Wellington off the menu. Shame! Other than that, its an amazing restaurant. Nostalgic American history and top notch food.
