Description: Ellen's Stardust Diner is a retro 1950s theme restaurant located at 1650 Broadway on the southeast corner of 51st Street in Theater District, Manhattan, New York City. The diner is regarded as one of the best theme restaurants in New York. The 1950s-themed eatery is home to its singing waitstaff known as (”Stardusters”). Ellen’s Stardust Diner has since served as the launching pad for many of its waiters/vocalists who have gone on to success in Broadway musicals and touring companies, domestic & international. Our retro 1950s-themed diner is filled with nostalgic memorabilia including the famous “Miss Subways” gallery honoring the beauty queens of a bygone era.

If you eat in one place in New York make sure it is here. We had breakfast and wanted to stay all day. Arrived early just after 7.30 so as not to queue to long , we waited about 10 minute shown to our table upstairs and there the fun began. One by one the waiting staff performed show tunes. One minute our waitress Megan was serving us and the next singing my fair lady. The food service was not compromised by the singing at all. We had the most amazing bagel with salmon and cheese, doughnuts 🍩 omelette and scrambled eggs all were lovely. It’s not surprising that they are apparently the third busiest restaurant in the would a must for every New York trip. Thank you to all at Ellen’s

This is a really good place for breakfast. Food is ok, nothing special but the entertainment is what you really come for. Arrived to a number from Grease.

We arrived at 7.15 and queued for 45 mins - I loved it - husband was not impressed with food!
We tried to go a few times whilst in New York- queue was long everytime.

Waiting staff bring buckets for tips - not in your face at all.

Great entertainment- would go back but get there for opening time. Would like to go back for evening entertainment!

Staff: fun and entertaining.
Food: average but tasty enough.
See photos below for more info regarding the line to get in. At 10:54am there was a multitude of available seats in the restaurant as we were leaving. However, upon exiting the diner, the line was quite lengthy. It seems they do not fill seats for their patrons and would prefer the look of exclusivity by having a long line to get in.
